From talking about the real team I manage, to the fake team I manage. Let’s give everybody the blog they’ve all been waiting for, and give you an update on my Fantasy Baseball team.

Yes, I tried blogging about fantasy sports before right in this very spot, but… it wasn’t liked by many… many out of the few people who read it. I actually tried playing a fantasy expert, and boy was I far from that. I mean, the experts at least get some stuff right… I got like none. Fantasy football has been rough sledding for me, even though I’ve been playing for like over 20 years. I dabbled in Fantasy basketball and actually won one year. But Fantasy Baseball… now that’s my shit. I’ve pretty much always done good with that. Geez, with all the time required to manage a fantasy baseball team, I should be playing for a lot more than 20 bucks. Still, it’s not about the money; I love baseball… playing fantasy baseball makes sure I pretty much know all the players on every team, kind of like when I was a kid and collected baseball cards. I enjoy following how guys are doing, constantly looking to improve my team via trade or free agent pickup. Currently, I sit in 4th place in my league after winning 4 straight weeks; I was 2-3 before that, sitting in last place. Yeah, maybe it’s fantasy baseball I should write about.

Anyways, as I continue climbing the standings, I’m faced with a matchup with the #1 team in the league… so far so good this week. I finally pulled the trigger on picking up Kyle Schwarber off the wire. Obviously I watch him play all the time, but I’ve been watching his fantasy numbers get better and better too. I got sick of waiting for Odor from the Rangers to turn it around, and cut his ass. Kyle has 12 points for me this week so far. My other Cub players are Baez, who I got for a steal deal at the first pick of our auction draft; he’s been struggling but coming on strong this week. Kyle Hendricks is the 3rd Cub. I was pissed when I didn’t get any Cubs pitchers during our draft; price was driven up so high on each and every one of them… tried to stay discipline. So I packaged up the Red Sox rookie Chavis and As pitcher Bassitt for Hendricks; I haven’t had one second thought about that one. They were both waiver wire pickups, and I got THE Cubs starter I wanted. He’s been a big reason for my recent surge.

Freeman, Alfonso (FA pickup), JD Martinez, Meadows, Lemahieu, Dozier (FA pickup), Haniger, Baez, and Vogelbach (FA pickup) are the list of guys who have over 150 points for me thus far. My pitching staff is led by Hendricks (trade), DeGrom, Wheeler, Kershaw, Martin Perez (FA pickup), and Paddack… can’t forget about the number one reliever in fantasy baseball Kirby Yates. If I could beat the 1st place team, I could be in 1st place after this week. I know I said I was in 4th place, but it’s a 4 way tie record wise. I don’t know how I do it… my job, this thing, my son’s baseball team, my fantasy baseball team… haha. Yeah, bring it on… and let’s go Curse Busters!
