Anything going on with the Blackhawks lately? Well, not much in the way of their current roster and/or the team’s future performance, but there has certainly been a lot of noise about an incident that took place 11 years ago. What the hell?!?!
Yes, 11 years ago puts us in 2010, a very good year for the Blackhawks. Seeing the Hawks win the Cup for the first time in my lifetime was awesome. I guess this is why these allegations were pushed so far underneath the carpet? Here you are, a grown man (maybe 20s?), complaining about a sexual assault from another grown man, but does the age and gender really matter? It’s different, but yet, it’s the same. The Blackhawks franchise was on the rise, winning its first out of three Cups that year. I get that you want to keep everything positive, all good stuff, everything on the up and up; of course, that’s what you want. However, things happen that are not according to YOUR plan; things happen that must be addressed, no matter what type of publicity comes with it. If the Blackhawks nipped this in the bud back when it was first reported, another kid, probably kids, may have been saved. In fact, it could have been GOOD publicity for the Blackhawks, going after this bad apple inside the locker room. This should have been done and over with. But now, here we sit, 11 years later, talking about some ugly shit. I feel for the victim, victims; shit ain’t fair. It wasn’t the Blackhawks fault that this guy is a sicko; it IS their fault that they didn’t realize this after it was reported to them and act on it accordingly.
