I saw something funny on Twitter; it went something like this. So with the Bulls taking Coby White, and with that most likely meaning the end of the Shaq Harrison era, you could say the Bulls chose Coby over Shaq. Get it? I thought it was pretty good. I hated those Lakers. Kobe trying so hard to be like Mike, winning multiple titles; only one person 6-0 bro.
Anyways, the Bulls twitter page ran the whole “Guard from North Carolina” comparison with MJ. I mean… really? I don’t know much about this Coby White guy, but comparing him to MJ… even though they were probably just trying to be cute. I believe that was the same site begging for a certain number of followers. Is this site run by Gar Forman?
Biggest need, biggest need… point guard, right? Wendell, Lauri, Otto, and Zach… those 4 are starting; that leaves one. It’s pretty obvious at this point that Dunn is not the answer there. I don’t think we needed GarPax to tell us that. He’s been given plenty of chances, no? If we keep him off the bench, great, but the need is a starting point guard. With the Bulls getting screwed over in the draft, and instead of improving on their 4th position, they lost ground… falling back to 7. That sucked big time. So no Ja Morant in our future; I was really hoping for him. But noooo… guess we couldn’t get that lucky again… and draft a franchise changing point guard. Yeah, I loved Rose, but please don’t bring him back.

But if he was the best available point guard, I guess I can’t be mad; that’s my reasoning at least. Thing is though, from what I’ve read, he’s not ready to go from the jump; he’ll need some seasoning. What does that mean exactly in this situation? A point guard competition between him and Dunn… both guys with the same agent? This is going to end well. I still think the Bulls should bring in another point guard, and I’ve already established I don’t want Rose back. But another kid from Chicago may not be bad, although sounds like the price for Patrick Beverly is going up.
You know they ran that whole 26th anniversary of John Paxson’s shot. I remember that… clearly. I was still living at home with my parents; we were watching on the floor in the front room. That was a phenomenal shot… being the only person other than MJ to make a shot in the 4th quarter… having all the Bulls touch the ball before it ended up in Pax’s hands… the Horace Grant block to seal it… don’t forget that. But what he was as a player, is not who he is as a GM. GarPax is about at the end of their rope… actually, they’re way out of rope, although in the owner’s family’s eyes, they have no limit. It kind of sucks.
But maybe they made another good draft pick; they have done some stuff right. Will this be the guy that brings it all together? Will he be the floor general of the Bulls resurgence? Guess we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Let’s just see him on the court this year, playing meaningful minutes. Let’s try getting more than 20 something fricking victories. Let’s try parking the tank back in the garage, and qualifying for the postseason. Yeah, that would be nice. Jury is out… Go Bulls!
