It’s still 2 weeks away, July 4th that is, but the NBA has been good for plenty of fireworks so far this offseason, especially tonight.
The big explosion last week was the deal between Boston and Philly. Trading first round picks plus some. I thought this was a step closer to Boston getting Jimmy. I thought they’d send us a boatload of picks for him. Why wouldn’t they want Buckets? Every team would love to have him. But no, Boston seems zoned in on Hayward; good luck with that. He’s a good player, great even, but he’s no Jimmy.
The Bulls front office dopes were honest in saying they’d listen to offers for him. Honestly, they should have just came out, assumed we knew if they offered 100 draft picks for Jimmy we’d do it, and say Jimmy isn’t going anywhere. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; nothing wrong with building around JB.
When rumors swirled about him going to Cleveland, the hair on the back of my neck stood up; that would be a cherry bomb. I cringed thinking of that, and how I would rip his fathead off my son’s bedroom wall, and how I’d sell his number 21 jersey. Anywhere but there. Anywhere but with LeQueen. Thankfully, the latest says, he ain’t going anywhere. What will we hear next?

Maybe the Bulls will build around him. Kind of hard to do with that $20 million dollar anchor. Wade exercised his player option and will be staying here. I couldn’t believe it; just kidding. He won’t sniff that much money from any other team. We knew he wasn’t going anywhere when he first signed the deal…unless it was to go to Cleveland with LeBron. Still, with that much money on the table, having rings in the bank, and being close to home in a great city such as Chicago. That was a no brainer. That announcement was like one of those cheap fountain fireworks you get in the value pack.
Dwight to the Hornets for a bag of chips. Brook Lopez to the Lakers for D’angelo Russell. Cleveland firing their GM. Pow, bang, boom. Paul George wanting out. LeBron trying to recruit somebody else for his “not-a-super-team”. He’s full of crap. I laughed when I saw him praised his GM that got canned, and how he supported him. That’s a crock of shit. You don’t think he had a say in that decision? No way Gilbert does anything without asking James. Can I wipe my ass LeBron? Go ahead Dan. That’s just funny. LeBron is such a joke.
So what’s next, or a better basketball term, who’s next? Will there be more fireworks? What will that grand finale be? I like all the movement. I don’t like this concept of super teams. I’d like Jimmy to stay put. I’d like for the Bulls to actually sign some younger, athletic guys. It’ll be fun to monitor. It’ll be sad when it’s all said and done and the Bulls remain in Bball hell, but with the Cavs and Warriors super teams, isn’t that where most teams are? Who will knock one of them off in each conference? I’ll be fans of whichever team or teams do that, let me tell you. If it was MY team, it’d be even better. But then I remember those duds we have in GarPax. Those wicks were lit. We watched them burn, waiting, and nothing. We’re used to that. F it…Go Bulls always!!!

The nba offseason has started with a bang that has been louder than the whole regular and playoff seasons combined. It seems like every team is trying to get young and rebuild or add another super star to make their own super team. It is pretty disgusting knowing that less than 5 teams will actually have a shot at winning it all. We all know gsw is gonna be there. cle will add another star or 3 to make lequeen happy. Where will Buckets land? Hayward, George, cp3, Griffin? Yep, the crazy nba offseason is here with fireworks ablaze. Will the Bulls be involved in any? You bet!
