Here I was this morning… smiling after one last night. Game One of the NBA Finals that is. Anytime LeBron loses, especially in the Finals, it brings a smile to my face.
Damn, when did I turn into such a hater? You know the story. Anytime someone is compared to our sacred sports heroes, especially when it’s the number one sports hero (Walter Payton is 1B), I get upset. We went through this with Kobe, but when all was said and done, he turned out to be just the best MJ imitator; never better than the original. But now there is this guy…
And man… people sure want to push this agenda. It sells, I get it. It generates clicks. It gets people worked up; you’re reading one of those guys. Everybody wants to weigh in on this subject. I’ve weighed in plenty of times through this blog. No need to rehash everything, but… if you have read my feelings on this guy, you understand why I feel this way.
So there’s the cliff notes version… so yeah, so what? I was smiling. I am happy seeing him lose, so that everybody can shut the hell up. Not that any thing he does will ever change my mind; it won’t. Still, feels good. I’m kind of shocked they were even in the game…
I didn’t watch most of it. I could have. I was sitting there, in front of the TV. The Cubs game was over. I had nothing else to watch, but… I didn’t tune in. I turned on MLB Network, and monitored the score of the game from my phone. I would only tune in at the very end, or if Golden State had a big lead. When I finally did tune in, hoping to see the win in the bag, they were reviewing a foul call. I saw the score (Cavs up 2) and the time left (like 30 something seconds) and immediately turned it off. But, from reading afterwards, I guess they ruled against her highness, and in favor of the Warriors. This only makes me think that they’re setting it up to even the score later in the series by giving the Cavs every call… see what all that gambling did to me? See what all the hate does… paranoia…

I honestly do think the Cavs can win this series… just because. Just because it would piss me the hell off, and cause there will be even more people to push that agenda. It would make me throw up. Again, nothing can be done to change who the GOAT is… period.
But back to the game for a second. I did see George Hill, Mr 80+% from the line miss a key throw. I did see a nice rebound by JR Smith, and the boneheaded thing he did after that. He said he knew, but come on… he didn’t know the score. He thought the Cavs were up. Either that, or he didn’t know how much time was left. Either way, his head wasn’t in the game; does that surprise you? Love how LeBum looked at him, and pointed towards the hoop as he scolded him. I turned it off again.
I flipped it back on when I saw the Warriors had a double digit lead. Now it’s over, and then Tristan acted like a baby… and so did Draymond. I don’t like the Warriors either. And when I read Lechoke disappeared in OT after a phenomenal performance, it didn’t surprise me; we’ve seen this plenty of times from him.
But… it’s only one game, and honestly, the Cavs should have stole it. Lenon-goat should have made sure of it, but… he didn’t. And thus, I’m smiling. 1 down, 3 to go.
