July 10, 2015: Loving It

Talk about a perfect day for baseball. Friday’s cross town classic starts with a picture perfect day in Wrigley.

Did you get out early?  Pitchers duel so far with some defensive gems by the Sox keeping it scoreless as they make up for Rodon’s walk an inning pace. Thank God for Pat Hughes.

I did get out early, but to head to a wake. That’s never fun.  This one was a short stop and I got back on the road at precisely 3:05 pm. Game time.

I was hoping both radio stations had the game. I love baseball. Like football, I like to watch games between other teams than Chicago.  I don’t really do that in basketball or hockey. Baseball, definitely. Listening on the radio is great thanks to Pat Hughes. I’d like to listen to the Sox on the radio too, but can’t.  Not because I can’t get 670 am on my dial. Because Ed Farmer and darrin Jackson are just flat out brutal. I’ve tried, but I just can’t listen to those guys. B. R. U. T. A. L.

Besides the walk an inning pace, it’s been a double play per inning too, including an interesting play that I’m sure will be replayed many times. There’s always a play in these series that is off the wall. Always something happening that is out of the ordinary.  If we’re lucky, we’ll get a little fight too. One of my favorite crosstown memories is Michael Barrett planting his fist in AJ Pierzynski’s face. Had that as my screen saver for a while. Will we get another this weekend?

Because I had to make that stop, I couldn’t wear my Cubs jersey to work today. I was all ready to represent, as I saw many people doing downtown today. That’ll have to wait until I get home and throw on that cubs shirt. Jersey for Saturday, and another for Sunday.  Sox just got another double play to end the 4th. Crazy!  0-0

Now it’s time for another sporting event as my 3 years olds sports class is about to begin. He’s feeling better, and it’s time to play ball. Hopefully when I flip back on Pat, I hear some good news. Either way, it’s great to see this series again. I’m loving it!
