July 8, 2015: Tainted Birds

No we’re not talking about the bird flu, but about something else that makes you sick. It’s the St. Louis Cardinals, and they just gave us another reason Wednesday night

The Cardinals are the model franchise. The Cardinals have the best fans. Blah blah stick my finger down my throat blah.  Yes, they’ve won a lot, and yes that’s a big reason I hate them, but they’re not perfect.

Let’s start with Peralta, the hero in this latest cubs cards chapter.  PED history must not have been a checkbox on the Cardinals player evaluation.  Previous scumbag?  It’s ok. Come on down to Arch land, and we’ll cure ya. Or maybe they just have a better system to hide it. You know there were rumblings about Pujols taking that juice too.

Oh, and then what about this recent scandal of stealing the Astros player information.  That seems fair.  Not. It’s kind of like cheating on a test…a big test. Maybe if you’re the new England patriots it’s Ok to find that “competitive advantage”, but in most teams books… Don’t think so. Good old wholesome cardinals following the if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying mantra?  Ha…tainted birds.

As far as this year goes, they’re overachieving. Yeah, I said it. With the injuries they’ve sustained, it’s truly next man up. Thats why they’re looked at as a model franchise..wait, screw that.  Yeah, that’s why their good, but that’s also why they won’t last. Now they’ll be getting guys back minus wainwright, but that staff is going to get spent. We could only hope. Like Wacha, their new ace, throwing all those high pressure pitches on Wednesday night; it caught up to him.

Kamagra is a company that specializes in creating products to enhance sexual performance of males. viagra sale Such participation boosts up communication and can usually identify cialis sample the sources of stress and anxiety for everyone. Inclusion of garlic cloves fried in butter is a safe herbal remedy buying viagra in india for curing joint aches. If you have these pills instantly cheapest cialis australia after meal, their effectiveness would reduce by 50%. We lose hammel after the first. We go down 4-0 with their ace on the mound. Loss right? Well, yes eventually.  As montero cleared the bases with a go ahead double, the whiny birds came out. First Molina. I wish he’d just go out to pasture already. Then their whiny manager matheny. Both arguing a borderline strike call.  Bye bye birdies.

It was the most pumped I was for a game in a while.  The hate was out, and I was loving every minute of the Cardinal misery.   Then it happened…

With Jason Motte unavailable after throwing in both games the day before, the bullpen rotation was altered.  It looked like it had all worked out…another cubs comeback…another Cubs one run victory.  With two outs and two strikes, the PEDs overcame, and the cards beat the Cubs again.

Tough loss. Series split. I’ve seen enough of these birds for a while. Actually, we won’t see them until September…and hopefully after that. They got this latest page, and have the upper hand this year, but this year ain’t over. At 8 games above 500, currently in the wild card position, the Cubs need to forget about them…for now. Time to play in the 2nd half like we have in the first half. That would mean about 90 wins and most probably a playoff spot.

So forget about these birds. I know it’s hard. They gave me another reason to hate them on this night. But there’s bigger fish to fry right now. We can get back to these tainted birds later…and we will.

Tough loss, but I honestly think it helps this ballclub in the long run. This team is young and needs to experience these types of losses. The Cubs have been great in 1run games this year…not sure of the exact record, but it is better than last year for sure. Beating the birds is going to happen and must if the Cubs want to advance anywhere this year. This was a tough one to swallow, but it should pay dividends later in the year. GO CUBS GO!!!
