July 3, 2017: More Comings and Goings

I’ll tell you what. The NBA offseason has been more exciting than the NBA season.  It’s kind of crazy, and I think a bit sad, but with more comings and goings, the NBA hot stove is burning.

Chris Paul to the Rockets; that’s going to be interesting to see develop.  I’m guessing they’ll try to add another piece before it’s said and done.  Still don’t think they have enough to beat the Warriors.  It’s kind of like Paul George and the Thunder.  Obviously, they’ll be better, but still.  Iguodala is staying partially because KD took less money.  The Warriors are still far and away the best team…but there are teams that are getting closer.

How about those Twolves?  What do I tell my son?  His favorite player Jimmy Butler was traded to the Wolves.  My favorite coach is coaching them.  Then, Taj is added.  It’s like the Bulls north.  They also added Teague by the way.  No, not Marquis Teague, the guy Thibs loved to hate.  The better brother, Jeff Teague, who will help make this team a force to be reckoned with.  Smart move going with him and not bringing back another ex-Bull.  Rose helped run Thibs out of town, both with his injuries, and his apparent lack of support, which is strange considering how much he supported him.  The comments Rose said after Thibs left, made it pretty clear that he was one of the ones bitching about his coaching.  That helped make me start disliking him, but enough about him.

Back to the Bulls North.  My son is now saying he wants to root for the Wolves.  If you ask him, after much discussion on the topic, the Bulls trading Butler was not a smart decision, or more bluntly, the Bulls are garbage.  Although I will never root against my team, I do admit that GarPax have ran this team into the ground.  We will now be seeing what rock bottom is.

As other teams try to stack talent, and gear up for taking a shot at the Cavs and Warriors, the Bulls are subtracting talent.  Then, the Reinadorfs are relying on two guys to rebuild that shouldn’t be trusted to make another basketball decision.  I would love to form some type of conglomerate to buy the Bulls.  I hate to see my team run into the ground.

I will be taking the fathead Jimmy Butler down in his room; I think I’ll keep his Butler jersey.  My wife agrees with him, and wants to buy him a Butler Twolves t-shirt.  Don’t think I want him wearing another team’s jersey, although I did that growing up too, but a tshirt?  I think that’s ok.  That will be THE Bulls game to see this year.  Maybe even making the trip to Minnesota would be worth it.  Have to wait to see the schedule come out.

I’m happy the boys are reunited with Thibs.  I wish them nothing but the best, except of course when they play the Bulls.  I hope they can eventually give the Warriors a run for their money.  I’d love to see Thibs get a title.  I think that will happen before we see our next one.  It should have been happening at the same time.  I just can’t let that one go…

Butler is gone, but not forgotten….get’em the shirt, no harm no foul. Can the same be said for the Jordan wizards shirt or the Pippen Portland/Houston shirt?

Just don’t go out and get the Bulls/Starks shirt, b/c that name should never be spoken!

    See RED!

Nba offseason is definitely more exciting than the nba season. Cp3 to hou, pg to okc, buckets to tpups, and many others with probably more coming before all is said and done. Teams are trying to stack up to gsw and cle. The east is extremely weaker after these moves. Hayward to boston is the only big name headed east so cle vs bos east finals makes sense right now…skip the 82 game regular season. The west is stronger than ever trying to catch gsw. Will it happen this year? Let’s see how the rest of the deals wind up. Thibs and his tpups will be better, especially with Buckets and Taj. As for the Bulls, yeah, nowhere near competing with the big dogs.
