July 27, 2015: Fastballs

posted in: Cubs | 2

I’m thinking every major league hitter can hit a fastball. Then why is it that your closer marches out and throws 22 of 23 pitches for fastballs?

You have a three run lead. The easiest save in baseball, although I guess there are no easy ones.  So out marches Motte, trying to close the door against the mighty Rockies.  Home run, single, double. Thanks Jason.

You know after a performance like this, the beard is kind of annoying. Actually, after a performance like this, on the heels of another blown save against the worst team in baseball, he should shave it off. I think I’m personally going to hunt him down tonight and shave it myself.  What a jagoff.

It serves us right to rely on this ex-Cardinal. We should have known this wouldn’t turn out right.  That’s why I’ll never draft one on my fantasy team. Ok ok I did draft pujols back in the day. Mistake. I hate the cardinals. I don’t want any affiliation with them. Neither should the real life Cubs. It doesn’t really matter who has the tradition of winning and who has the tradition of losing, and yes, I know who’s who. It’s a matter of principal. When the Cubs do win, I don’t want any help from them or any of their ex-players.

Of course an ex-Cub played a role in DJ lemaywhatever. Screw him too. They always come back and haunt us some how.  When it’s going bad it goes bad. And how about taking out Schwarber up three runs, only to have Ross come up in the 9th. Nice move Joe. And why can’t Kyle catch Lester or Jake?  It’s not like we need his bat in the lineup right?

I’m fricking pissed right now. Then it happened. Right after I finished typing this sentence. Kris Bryant hit one and erased all the hate I was feeling. A two run bomb to win it in the bottom of the ninth. Heck yes!!!!!

How quick emotions can change.. I was down in the dumps, now the Cubs are back!!!  Easy now…but again, and it never fails, winning cures all. Thank you Kris!

Oh, and it wasn’t a fastball he hit by the way. It was a slider. So there!  Take that!  Whatever that means. Haha. Go Cubs!

Jason aint got the motte. This revolving door at closer for the Cubs could be an issue as we head for the playoff push. As I was watching the 9th, I text, “cant trust that ex red shit bird,” and here is a blog about him…love it! Shave that beard motte…the Hawks already won the Cup!

The white mamba, kris bryant, saves the day! Had a good feeling after russell and ross hit 2 solid balls…sure enough, bryant comes through. The Cubs needed that…not just the W but the excitement and momentum it may bring 2moro and as the summer moves along. Hope the Cubs can string a few Ws together as we all look forward to the trade deadline.

    GO CUBS GO!!!
