Cubs this, Cubs that… Yeah, it’s been a lot about the Cubs lately… and it will be for the next few months. But there is that other team playing baseball. You know, that team from the other side of the tracks.
Actually, they’re located by the same tracks, the Red Line, that runs by both parks. The teams are separated by about 10 miles. But, let’s save that crosstown talk for next week. Let’s give the Sox a little focus here, before we start to rip them.
It hasn’t been the start out of the gates in the 2nd half that the Sox were looking for. Getting swept by the Angels… only mustering one run in that series, was pretty pitiful, especially considering that they were on the fringe of playoffs or nothing… selling or buying… greatness or mediocrity. It was a bad showing.
Then they go to Seattle and lose 2 out of 3; they should have won all 3. The first game was one of those heartbreaking ones. Sale throws a one hitter. 2 run lead going to the 9th. Ventura pulls him. Robertson gives up 3 run bomb to Adam Lind. They did score some runs for Quintana to even the series, but then blew another lead to lose the series. Adam Lind struck again, and the Sox went to 1-5 after the break. Then Rick Hahn spoke…

Generic order generic levitra medicine for this type of problem such as redness, irritation, sandiness etc, then visiting the consultants will be the best alternative. He basically said everybody is available, except Sale, Quintana, and Anderson. That’s great, but… you just named the three guys that you would get the most for. Then the Sox got screwed by mother nature, losing a 2-1 decision in 7 innings. That sucks.
So now what? Well, the cross town series is right around the corner. This will be the biggest 4 games in the White Sox season. Can they pull this season back out of the dumpster? Can they go on a run like they did at the beginning of the year and make things interesting? It seems like a big task, especially considering all the teams they have to contend with for that wild card spot. The division is disappearing quickly…
It’s a tough spot. It’s tough to hear the GM come out and say how disappointing the season has been. He’s being honest. He did acknowledge they weren’t as good as that blazing start, but didn’t think it would go this far south. How will the players react? Was he doing this to give one last chance to fire this team up? Was he trying to motivate these guys to save their season… to keep this team that loves each other so much together? They did say it was a 3 year window, with this year being number 2. Based on that, they still have one year left… Will the gang be kept together for one more twirl? What will the rest of this year hold?
I thought the Sox would be in the mix for postseason play. I thought that’s right about where they would be. They’ve fallen on some tough times; I’m not sure if they can recover. 3 more games vs Detroit will show something. 4 games against that team 10 miles away will start next week. No easy games in sight. What are they made of? We’ll check back a week from now to find that out. We’ll talk much more about them, not just the Cubs, next week during the classic. It’s almost time to direct that hate to the Sox for 4 games; maybe I shouldn’t… it’s been rough enough for the pale hose. Is it time for a Kenny Ozzie reunion yet?

Hahn needs to have everybody available because there is a price for everyone, especially the big guns like sale and quintana. If this year is not panning out as hoped, it might be time to rebuild and retool by getting max deals in exchange for the big horses. The sox could ask for the world and probably get it. Time for hahn and the sox to seriously think about it. Be careful, the Cubbie blue train is on the tracks!
