Friday night started the second half of the baseball season. With half the season in the books, how well do we know our teams?
The Sox were the first team with the Royals to kick off this half with the day part of a doubleheader. The Royals beat the Sox 4-2, with the Sox coming back to split the doubleheader in the night cap. What does this tell us? Not much.
The Sox had a horrible start to the year. They were one of the worst teams in baseball. Over the past couple weeks, they’ve been one of the best. Who are they really? Probably somewhere in between. Not sure the answers. Like they say, that’s why we play the games.
The Cubs on the other hand had a better than expected first half. Yes, they’re not in first but they are in the wild card position. How will they fare second half?
They started with a loss in Atlanta, after Strop gave up two in the 8th to eventually lose 4-2. He’s kind of been inconsistent. He has the potential to be great, but we just haven’t seen it. That’s the Cubs in a nut shell this year.
