January 31, 2021: A Taste of Honey

Finally, some snow! According to reports, Chicago was hit with its worst snowfall in 5 years this weekend; I loved it. Sure, shoveling gets old after a while, but just like yard work, it’s therapeutic for me. I enjoy the winter… not necessarily in March, but from December through February anything goes, and anything certainly went this weekend.

I didn’t go out on Saturday night to shovel; it only looked like we got a bit… wasn’t going to mess with that, especially with the forecast calling for snow all day on Sunday. When I woke up Sunday morning, bam!… ton of snow; I could barely get my screen door open to get outside at about 6:30am. Yeah, it was heavy stuff too; I didn’t mind. I was hoping for a lot of snow, mainly so my son and I could get outside and enjoy. We did.

I had looked up some sledding spots; no tubing spots that close, plus most of those are reservation only at this point. We didn’t even make it sledding; we still had fun though. There was plenty of jumping around, digging, and creating in the snow. We gathered plenty of icicles off my neighbor’s roof, throwing snowballs at them to knock them off. Then of course, we had multiple epic snowball fights; it was perfect snow for that. We faced off in the back yard, the alley, and the front yard. I got him good with 3 in a row, including the final one right between the eyes… haha. Yet, I think he got the best shot of the day. Somehow he hit me right in the nuts; I needed a brief timeout after that one… haha. Overall, about 4 hours of playing outside in the snow confirmed the reason and need for the weekend’s snowfall.

Scientists have also defined some order cheap levitra biological causes and psychological causes behind erectile dysfunction. It also boosts endurance to last generic viagra usa longer as well as to treat premature ejaculation in men. Perhaps it is premature to say that viagra price watermelon is effective for erectile dysfunction treatment but it doesn’t hurt to try either way. Pregnant ladies and breast feeding mothers should be aware that the value purchase levitra is worth every cent.

There was hockey to be played too, not outside on a pond, although that would be cool, but inside at the UC. This time the Hawks would beat the Blue Jackets. In the meantime, I’ve been wanting to hold off on declaring the winner of the Blackhawks goalie carousel, but… maybe it really is over. Maybe the Blackhawks really did luck into another great goaltender, which would be awesome, and could effect the trajectory of the short term success. I was reading some stats posted by Charlie Roumeliotis: Kevin Lankinen is 3-1-2 with a 1.97 GAA and a .937 save percentage. Wow! I knew he had been good, but THAT good? Done deal? Kevin is our starter going forward? I think so.

Playoffs are still a long shot this year in my opinion, but my expectations for the team have just went up a bit. If the Hawks had Kirby and Toews back, playoffs may have been in reach; without them, even with the emergence of Lankinen, it’s not going to happen.

What should happen is more snow this week… bring it on!!! I’m already checking out tubing spots; maybe this weekend? That would be fun. This recent snowfall makes me want to live in a place that gets this type of snow on a regular basis; all the possibilities of outdoor activities, which is especially nice in our current predicament… I love it.
