How did you do on Championship Sunday? The best day of football was, well, a pretty good day I guess, unless you’re a Niners or Bengals fan. The first game was a disappointing blowout, while the 2nd one brought the drama. Each of the games had some interesting calls; the bigger the game, the more involved Papa Vegas, I mean, the refs are. Just wait for the Super Bowl… Yeah, the Super Bowl will be interesting, but first, let’s walk through what happened this Sunday.
I was on the Niners; I was on the Niners since the get go. I didn’t know that Purdy would get hurt; I didn’t know he wouldn’t return. I fell into a bad place in this game, chasing the spread as it kept increasing and increasing, just knowing that Brock would be back, and the Niners would make this a game. Well, there’s always opportunity to get reeled in, and… this was mine. Thankfully, getting reeled only cost me $45; lot different than a couple hundred, like I may have done back in the day. You see, treading lightly on the Draft Kings front does pay off. The refs were all in on the Eagles too, let’s just be honest. If we’re being honest, they didn’t even have to be like that. With a 4th string QB, there was no way the Niners would win this game; I guess the refs just wanted to make sure, destroying any type of teaser that involved the Niners. Without Purdy, the Niners were in trouble; some say it would have happened regardless. I would have loved to see a healthy Brock the whole game; certainly it would have been a lot closer. But… the Eagles good fate this postseason continued. From meeting an overachieving Giants team and a 4th string QB at home, they looked very impressive; how impressive is that really though? Will find out in 2 weeks. Certainly not a fan of the Eagles at this point, after they lightened my bankroll…
I was on the Chiefs; I changed my initial lean from the Bengals and it paid off. I cut my losses essentially in half with that late KC FG. Did the Bengals get jobbed? I was in a casino all day, so I didn’t hear the broadcast and didn’t pay that close attention to the key calls/no calls. I saw the one where Burrow tried to earn an Oscar, flipping backwards after the Chiefs guy touched him; that was bullshit… good no call. Of course I saw the one at the end of the game; Mahomes was clearly out of bounds, 2 steps in fact. I get that it wasn’t malicious, but it definitely was a penalty. I read about some other stuff throughout the game; none of that would surprise me. I figured the Cincy bandwagon got a little too big… the Chiefs were a little overlooked. Will we continue to overlook the Chiefs in the Super Bowl? How big is that Philly bandwagon? Will Papa Vegas have to pull them over? Haha… we’ll see the biggest fixed game of the year 2 weeks from now.
So yeah, in the casino gambling all day, watching the games, stepping outside to smoke a cigar… not a bad day. Now back to reality, back to Chicago and my family… I’m all good with that. Early lean for the Bowl??? Chiefs ML.
