“Niko” I hear as I walk in the door. I yell back “Jimmy Butler”, the name my son insists that we call him. I asked him what he and Derrick Rose (my wife) did today. Then Kirky aka Kirk Hinrich aka our dog comes rumbling down the hallway. Yes, just another night during Bulls season. They didn’t play tonight, but we did. Tonight I was the 76ers as my son and I played; he doesn’t like when I block his shot, steal the ball, or take the lead. These are the times to remember cause they will not last forever…the song runs through my head.
The real Bulls return tomorrow night in LA vs Derrick Rose’s future team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Hey it’s possible. Let’s see if we could beat those pathetic Lakers and old man Kobe; I sure did hate him at one point…definitely enough to earn him a File. It’s time for one of those. But now, he’s washed up…and sucks. Too bad he couldn’t get that sixth title…
My son is getting better with the Blackhawks names too. He can’t quite name 11 of them like the Bulls, but about 6-7. We don’t play as much “hockey” either with our plastic golf clubs whacking the golf ball around the house. Man that was ugly the other night. It sure did feel like a Hurricane. What do the Hawks think they’re doing playing like the Bulls against an inferior opponent? Good time for the all star break. Recharge those batteries boys; the best is yet to come.
And what about the Fox Bowl (per Buck) in about 10 days? Carolina vs Denver…2 teams that our coach John Fox led to Super Bowl losses; is 3 times a charm? So yeah, overall a slow day in Chicago sports. From comments on Twitter, the premiere of 30 for 30 on the 85 Bears at the River East theater was a huge hit. Can’t wait to see that next Thursday. Bulls should be double digit favorites…not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Time to start winning the games they should.
Hawks lost 3of4 headed into the all-star game…to be expected after winning 12 in a row. Time to rest up and prepare for the only season that matters, lord stanley time. How about a repeat Hawks? It will not be easy, but it is doable with this team!
