January 23, 2020: Finding a Worse Team

posted in: Bulls | 0

They did it. The Bulls found a worse team than them at the UC on Wednesday night… barely. After pissing away another big lead, the Bulls bounced back and held off the Timberwolves for their 17th win of the season. I should be happy.

There are currently 8 teams in the NBA that are worse record wise than the Bulls; we’ll get another one Friday night at the UC. I’ll be in the house that evening to watch the Bulls. Let me tell you; it’s not very fun. Watching them on TV is painful nowadays; long gone are the days of Thibs… ancient history are the days of MJ. Now, we have to watch the Boylen and Zach show.

Maybe I’ve been too hard on Zach; I haven’t been that hard on him, have I? All I’ve really said, at a high level, is that he is not a #1 tier superstar. He is a #2; if that’s bad, I’m sorry. Maybe he is an all star. Maybe he can be a #1 one day; maybe the reason he is not there is due to Boylen.

I keep coming back to him as the main reason why we suck this year. On paper, we have to be better than more than 8 teams. Sure, we’ve had our injuries; not having Porter for most of the year has sucked. Losing Wendell was brutal; losing Gafford was like pouring salt on the wound. Now we get to watch Luke Kornet play. Hey, nothing against Luke, but he is surely not Robert Horry, as Jim Boylen said before the game on Wednesday. It is comments like this that remind everyone what a complete dipshit this guy is.

It’s bad enough to see the losses piling up; it’s worse watching the things Boylen does, and even worse more, listening to the things he says. I thought it was partially Zach’s play that doesn’t really mesh with Lauri, and that’s why he was suffering. Lately, people have been calling Lauri out for his lack of aggressiveness on the court. I’m going to go with door #3 Bob… it’s because of Boylen. We’ve heard the stories about Coby being told to ignore his mid-range jumper and shoot more 3s. We see the way Boylen uses his substitution patterns; confusing is a good way to define his methods. We see Lauri sometimes not playing much in the 4th quarter; is that his fault? When Kornet has more minutes than Markkanen, we have a problem Houston.

Lauri is so much more than a spot up shooter, but that’s what Boylen wants him to do in this thing he calls an offense. He’s ruining him. I know what’s going to happen. He’ll end up getting dumped and go on to have a wonderful career somewhere else. We all know GarPax ain’t worth shit, but for the love of God, correct your mistake and get Boylen out of here. That’s right, it’s come to this; I’m finally calling for his job. The perfect time was yesterday, but I will settle for the All Star Break. Admit your mistake with Jim, and move on with anybody, I mean ANYBODY at head coach for the rest of the season. Then go and actually perform a REAL coaching search, and get somebody in here who can help this talent we have flourish. The roster that you’ve put together isn’t horrible IMO, but having them lead by this buffoon is madness.

The latest dumb thing Boylen did was call a timeout late in the game, I think there were 5 seconds left, and the Bulls were up by 7. What point are you trying to prove Jimmy? We finally won a game and you have to ruin it by doing some dumb shit. I could go on and on and on… If the Bulls really want to make the playoffs this year, and take a step forward in their development, Boylen needs to go. If the Bulls true plan is to tank again, then keep this jagaloon in his position. This is painful already. I’d like to say I want Boylen fired more than GarPax, but then I remember who put him in his position… and extended him!!! This thing continues to be a mess, and the young talent that we have on this team is suffering, and rotting away. The Bulls should be in playoff position right now. Somebody needs to do something… NOW!
