There was good news on this Friday, and then there was bad news. Let’s start with the bad. Maybe it would have been better had WGN never fixed that feed to the Bulls game in Atlanta. It was ugly, early and often, as the Bulls were down and out in Atlanta again.
It’s been a rough stretch vs the Hawks. After this pathetic performance, the Bulls have now lost 8 of their last 9 to the Hawks. I don’t get it. Teague is gone; Horford is gone. It doesn’t seem to matter. I guess if you come out playing the way the Bulls did, you would lose to anybody.
13 points in the first quarter? They only scored 3 points for half of the 2nd quarter, before their “outburst”. But with a long 3 pointer at the buzzer, the Hawks were up by 29 at the half.
I was over the top frustrated watching the Bulls in this one. They couldn’t buy a bucket, kept turning the ball over, and kept letting the Hawks do whatever they wanted to. It was hurting my eyes.
I mean, Kris Humphries was having a good game. I didn’t even know he was still in the league. The Bulls made him look good. Another familiar face was knocking down some shots. Mike Dunleavy was hitting some treys. The sad thing is, he’s better than any shooter that we have. I was also thinking about that deal that sent him here; you know, the one for Korver. I thought it was highway robbery by the Cavs at first. But now, not sure Dunleavy and Korver are that different. Plus, Atlanta got a draft pick too. After further review, the deal doesn’t seem as lopsided as I first thought. By the way, both Dunleavy and Korver are ex-Bulls. Our current version of three points specialists are nowhere near as good.

I’m talking about McDermott and Mirotic. Yeah, Dougie had his best career game not too long ago, but let’s face it: that was a fluke. To trade 2 number one draft picks for somebody… you should be getting a future all star. Anybody see that in Dougie’s future? I don’t. At this point, he’s not even as good as the 2 ex-Bulls I just mentioned. Then there’s Mirotic. I thought the Bulls should have traded him before he came from Europe. I thought I was dead wrong about that seeing him play his first year under Thibs. Anybody else think Thibs got the best out of him? He’s sucked since then. He was building another house on Friday night in Atlanta, but he definitely wasn’t alone.
Then there’s the old timers of Wade and Rondo; they played horribly in this game too. Wade wasn’t close, and Rondo made some dumb plays. I didn’t want either one of these guys, and now, we’re stuck with these retreads. Wade talking about what he may do after this season… bye Felicia. And now there’s a rumor about Chris Bosh. Please say it ain’t so. Younger and more athletic are not words that I would use to describe Chris Bosh. On top of that, what’s up with his heart condition? I wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot pole.
I do think younger and more athletic is the way to go, yet I don’t see any examples of that playing substantial minutes on this Bulls team. I don’t feel bad for Hoiberg though, looking at him on the sidelines, clueless. What does he say in these timeouts? Then there’s Buckets saying the Bulls play better in practice; is this the Trestman Bears that we’re watching? Fire Hoiberg, Fire Gar. Fire Pax. Blow it up, and get some guys that have a clue on how to build a team and coach around Jimmy. Until then, unfortunately, there will be many more nights like this.
Yes, we will have our good nights too. That’s the life of a 500 team; a mediocre team… that’s the best way to describe them. Thankfully, there was another game going on at the same time. One that had better result. Let’s talk about that next; I need some cheering up.

Did not see the game at all. Checked my phone and saw the Bulls were down 29 at half. No need to check any highlights…hahaha. Heard the practice so good, not sure what happens in the game comments…sounds familiar and not in a good way. Dougie and niko are not what we thought they would be. Dougie has flashes but will never be an all-star…3pt game maybe. Niko played great for thibs and has regressed ever since. Wade and rondo are past prime. Bosh would be a horrendous pick up. The Bulls management and front office need to wake the F up and fix this mediocre team that is becoming all too normal.
