Back at it again. Some say the NFL Divisional Weekend is the best weekend of the year; it is good. I prefer the NFL Championship Weekend; that’s #1 for me. Still, there were 2 good games on tap. Let’s get into it.
The Eagles Rams game was beautiful to watch; I love watching football in the snow… who doesn’t? I was going to bet on the Eagles -6.5, but something told me to lay off; the Eagles won by 6 points, after the Rams went for the 2 point conversion; I’ll never understand that. Whatever; no skin off my back. I wanted the Eagles to win. I don’t really like them, but… with the Lions out, the Eagles give the NFC the best chance to win the Super Bowl, which is really important, especially if we’re talking about the Chiefs again. Hold that thought. First thing’s first, will they beat the Commanders next week? As if I didn’t dislike the Commanders enough after that fluke-ass play against the Bears earlier in the year, now they took out the team that was supposed to win the Super Bowl, a team that has never won before, and cost me some dollars? Go Eagles. I think back to that last game between the two teams, in Philly, when Washington came back to win. Are the Commanders a team of destiny?
The Bills Ravens game was up next; this was supposed to be the best game of the weekend. It didn’t disappoint. I placed a wager on the Bills ML before the game started, even though I didn’t feel great about it; how could I, the way the NFL has been going for me? As the Bills forged ahead, I still wasn’t counting the Ravens out; I played a little back on the Ravens in-game at +4.5. I love it when a plan comes together. When Andrews painfully dropped that 2 point conversion that would have tied the game, I hit both ways. It doesn’t make up for the Detroit debacle the night before, but it helped; back to the grind after all. Staying on that grind. Big question is: Can the Bills beat the Chiefs?
Ranking the remaining teams, as far as which ones I’d like to win the Super Bowl, it’s pretty clear cut; the Bills are number one, and the Chiefs are last. So, if the Bills lose to KC, I’ll be rooting for the winner of WAS PHI. The Bills are another one of those teams that have never won; unlike the Lions, they’ve been to the dance before. I remember watching year after year, the Bills losing in the big game; talk about heartbreak. I felt bad for them, and their fans. I liked their teams back in the day, Kelly, Thomas, Reed, Smith, Bennett… and Marv Levy as head coach. They couldn’t win 1 out of those 4??? Ouch. Will this Bills team be able to take away all that pain for the Bills Mafia this year? I’m rooting for them.
Only 3 games remain in the NFL season; that’s sad. Next weekend is the best NFL weekend of the year, before everyone gets 2 weeks to prepare for the biggest fixed game of the year aka the Super Bowl. You just have to be on the right side, something that’s been foreign to me this year. I have 3 more bullets to fire, not counting the in-game and prop plays that I’m sure will creep in with so few games remaining. I used to be good betting on the Super Bowl… maybe I can bounce back this year, after the Niners screwed me last year. Early Championship Weekend outlook… Eagles minus the points and Bills ML, so you may want to go oppo. Until next weekend…
