The Blackhawks beat the Canadiens again on Sunday night to run their winning streak to 11 games. This ties the franchise record set only a few years ago in 2013; we all know how that season ended. This one is starting to point that direction.

Speaking of 11, I wanted to talk about some famous 11s. Then I was thinking, and thinking…why the hell can’t I think of anybody with the number 11…or even famous 11s in history.  Vince Evans, the old Bears QB?  Am I really going to have to look this up?  Yes.

Yao Ming.  Didn’t recall that one. He was only in the NBA for a minute before a career ending injury.  Luis Aparacio.  Should have known that considering his number on the US Cellular wall, and being considered one of the best White Sox of all time.  Phil Simms. We’ll be talking about him very soon as we pickup our 85 Bears story. What a horrible, horrible announcer he has grown into. Then there’s Mark Messier. One of the all time greats.  Jonathan Toews has been compared to him.  He definitely is a winner and clutch player.

That’s what the Hawks will try to do in Nashville. Franchise record on the line, and we’re playing our whipping boys. Between them and the Wild, we have routinely ended their seasons.  As we know by now, Nashville has tried to take measures to minimize the Hawks fans in attendance by not allowing any Chicago area zip codes to buy tickets.  We’ll still be there. Then they wanted to make our version of the anthem a problem. They’re really desperate. They’d love to get one in against us and prevent this steak from continuing on their home ice.  I’d love to see the record set against these bozos.

Either way, the Hawks looked primed to do something they haven’t done in this dynastic run. Something that is pretty much a part of any dynasty, and that’s repeat. That would give us 4 in 7 years. Not sure how anybody would argue the dynasty label then.

First things first, get to 12. It’s been a fun ride so far.  As we’re accustomed with this Hawks team, the best is definitely yet to come.

Hawks go for 12…either way, the ulimate goal remains…repeat!

As for #11, it hurts even bringing it up, but Isiah Thomas of the bad boys. They had the Bulls number for a few years until MJ and company got over that hump and made them their whipping boys! Hate when a Chicagoan goes bad…tough to swallow but it happens.
