I’m back. I remember those two words from the newspaper the day Jordan came back to play basketball. It was a fine return…a Saturday, maybe Sunday game against the Pacers. I was going to call into work sick so that I could stay home and watch this historic return. That was back 20 years ago…

Fast forward and I’m still doing the same thing…well, sort of. Except now, we’ll be in a different building in downtown Chicago for the first time in my career.

It’s not like there hasn’t been enough going on in sports. Bulls, Hawks, Cubs convention…this here blogger should have diarrhea of the mouth right about now. I feel it coming on now.

But, I have some catching up to do.  Yeah, I’m behind the blog too, but I got to read what’s been going on…although I’ve heard blips here and there.

The way we’ll play catch up this time is go to two by two. When was the last time both the Hawks and the Bulls played back to back nights?  It doesn’t seem that common, and I’m too lazy to scroll through their schedules to confirm, but 4 games in 2 nights. Da-damn!

So let’s start with 53. The 53 points needed from JB to get the Bulls a win vs the hapless Sixers.  I remember people ripping Thibs for playing his guys into the ground.  Hoiberg rode this guy until Moore got hot…and how about that McDermott dunk?  But back to the 50 point game, the first since….nope, fooled ya. Not MJ, but Jamal Crawford. He had one in his Bulls career, as did Chet Walker, as does now Jimmy Buckets. And about that MJ…his number of 50 point games, not 23 or 45, but 30. 30 games of over fifty points. Got some work to do Butler…

The Hawks meanwhile haven’t lost in a minute. On this night, it was Corey Crawford leading the way.  Didn’t see much of this one, except for that insane save sequence…plus a few other ten bellers…love that term.  He has to be the Hawks MVP, but oh yeah, we may have the league MVP playing for us too….we’ll get to Friday’s games next.

Buckets 53 points was awesome as he willed the Bulls back into the game, ot, and then the W. Where is all that other talent the Bulls have???

Crow has been the best goaltender in he nhl this year…maybe no more flying under the radar? If he keeps playing like this, the Hawks may repeat and continue the dynasty!
