So here we are. What a fine mess the Bulls have gotten themselves into this time. It’s not surprising. It just makes me hate the front office and the coach that much more. Even though Rondo sucks, it’s not his fault.
We all knew Rondo wasn’t that great; everybody besides GarPax that is. So in a surprise move this off season, they go ahead and sign him. The question is why. The answer goes back to getting another “big name” to try to keep fans’ attention. The problem is, we’re too smart. We can see right through you. Another problem is, our loyalty. Regardless of who you put on the court, we’ll come see the games. It was time to really do what they said, get younger and more athletic and build around Jimmy; then they go out and sign 2 old, big names.
I can write a separate blog about Wade; for now, we’ll stick with Rajon. So he completed the Bulls version of the Big 3: Butler, Wade, and Rondo. Problem is, it’s like the big one and a half; the half is Wade. Rondo should not be considered a big name any more. He is not a great player; not sure how many years he was. Rondo is just another guy; they started to see that early this season.
Again, we all knew. It was no surprise when Rondo would turn the ball over, dribble in circles, drive out of control to the rim, and put up one of the ugliest shots in the game. I know we didn’t think we’d be improving our 3 point shooting with him… or free throw shooting for that matter. Why was that so shocking to FredBerg? Many questions to ask here.
Was Fred involved with this acquisition? I would vote no. I would vote this was all GarPax trying to put a brand name team together. What’s Hoiberg going to do with this guy? Well, he finally benched him. First, he was pulled down the stretch; now, he’s just pulled. But, he’s still on the team, and now, he’s back.

That press conference before the Wizards game was hilarious. I am not mad at Rondo. I knew what he was. I thought it was a bad move from the get go. But, now that we’ve already done it, and we have him on the team, there’s only 2 options: play him as part of the normal rotation of players or trade him. You can’t just bench him.
The press conference revealed some other interesting things, like have him and FredBerg talked… uh, no. And that another guy on the staff told him they were protecting him from himself. What type of ship are the Bulls running? A pathetic one. I’m so sick of these assholes.
I blame GarPax for bringing him in. I blame Hoiberg for botching the handling of him now that he’s here. What was obvious before, was that Thibs and GarPax were not on the same page; we all knew who was on the “right” page. Now, the same seems to be happening with FredBerg and GarPax… with these names, I feel like there should be a cartoon characters associated with them. It would be appropriate, considering the joke they all are. It’s so frustrating watching this develop.
At the end of the day, I think they will trade Rondo. Problem is, what we’re going to get for him; nothing. Although, because of this whole botched situation, he’ll end up going somewhere, like Cleveland, and play one or two great games in the playoffs, which will make all of this worse. Rondo, Rondo, Rondo… although I didn’t want you, I will miss you. I will miss your fun press conferences, like yesterday. I will miss your open and honest comments. I will miss you making the Bulls management look like the bunch of idiots that we know they are. Still not sure where the Bulls are headed from here… hoping for some major change. Go Bulls!

Rondo is the same guy he always has been. Cant shoot from the outside or fts. He is a pg who led the nba in assists last year. Put in the right system and he will produce. It seems that maybe he was misled with what exactly his job would be with the Bulls. I am sure there is blame to go all the way around, but garpax and fredberg do not look good in this situation. Yes, rondo is not the same guy from his boston days, but he obviously has stuff in the tank if he led the league in assists last year. If the Bulls have no clue what they are doing, how do they expect the players to? The Bulls front office and coach need to get their ish together so that this team can move in the right direction.
