January 1, 2015: The Year in Preview

posted in: Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox | 2

Everybody have those resolutions ready?  I’m sure the gyms will be full for the next 2 weeks…  Going to save up that money this year?  Going to stop holding some old grudge of yours?  Whatever it is, good luck to you, and leave everything that happened last year where it belongs… last year.  There is no need to bring it with you to 2015.  It’s a new day, a new year… the future is yours!

So I’m going to use that same philosophy in this post.  Instead of looking back at this past year, I’m going to look ahead to this next year.  Why sit here and talk about the brutal endings of the Bulls and Blackhawks seasons in 2014?  Why talk about one of the worst baseball seasons in Chicago of all time?  Why bring up the Bears year?  It’s a new year Chicago sports fans, and we have plenty to look forward to.  There is no doubt, that 2015 will trump 2014 every day of the week.

Let’s start with the teams in season.  I’ve been preaching Bulls Hawks double titles this year for a while.  Yeah, I know, I’m crazy, but I think this is the closest I may get.  The Bulls go into 2015 winners of 7 of 8 and sit 2 games out of the lead in the East.  The Hawks are sitting in the driver’s seat in their division.  The Bulls have yet to taste an NBA title without MJ; we’re overdue for #7 hanging in the rafters.  The Hawks have championship experience, ready to go 50-50 in the last 6 years with their 3rd Cup.  Give me some good reasons why they will NOT win?  Take that back, no negativity here… not today, give me ONE day without a negative thought.  It’s like that first day of the baseball season where hope springs eternal….

These foods can often price of sildenafil http://frankkrauseautomotive.com/cars-for-sale/2006-toyota-rav-4-limited/ set off the symptoms of seasonal allergy, neither will help correct the underlying immune system dysfunction that causes the problem. As a buy viagra line cardiologist, I have seen that this is one of the most effective drugs that can treat erectile dysfunction and help the male to sustain a rigid erection during sexual intercourse. Speaking of baseball… how about those Cubs and Sox offseason moves?  I’ll make a bet right now, that BOTH teams will improve by at least 10 games each.  I might even go as far to say they’ll both be at least .500 this year…  As a Cub fan, it’s been a while since I’ve been as excited about opening day as I am this year.  I can’t fricking wait.  Yeah, maybe a World Series title this year is dreaming a bit, but that’s what I do, and if not this year, then in the next couple years for sure, right?  And the Sox, in their 10 year anniversary of the 2005 champs, look to get their 2nd in most of our lifetimes.  It’s amazing what 1 World Series in your lifetime does for a fan base huh?  The Cubs have been getting most of the attention, while the Sox have been making some very good moves themselves.  How about that Civil War World Series this year?  So, a Hawks and a Bulls title, and the Cubs and Sox meet in the World Series… like I said, let me dream, it’s a new year baby!

And yes, that brings us full circle back to DA Bears.  There was no 2014, there was no 2014.  Forgetting about last year will prove tough when they take the field again, especially if a certain individual is under center, but… let’s imagine for a moment he is not.  Let’s imagine for a moment a meatball’s dream… Rex Ryan HC, Mike Singletary DC and more 85 Bears on the defensive staff… who really cares about the OC…haha.  We were able to trade Cutler to Washington straight up for RG3, and he is under center with all the same weapons as the year before.  The new Bears GM drafts like a genius, and we have a new rookie stud at safety, and a new Bears MLB in grooming.  How’s that sound sausage lovers?  Personally, I love it, but I too, am I meatball if that means a fan of the 85 Bears that doesn’t forget how the game should be played on the lake, and doesn’t forget how running the football and playing tough defense wins games, and wants Ditka back in some capacity…haha.  Regardless of the 2015 Bears record, I want a return of tough, hard nosed, Bears football.  If I can get that for starters, the rest will come… the rest will come…

OK, so there’s your Chicago sports 2015 in preview.  Please feel free to comment, and enhance this dream of mine.  I usually welcome all negative comments as well, but not today, not today…  keep that negativity with you, at least for a day.  Matter of fact, I told you to leave that in 2014.  Let me dream about 2015 Chicago sports glory without interruption.  Just for a day, let me have my glory, let us have our glory. Happy New Year!

I still like going after Bill Cower to come out of retirement and bring some toughness back to the Bears. Bring in Jim McMahon as QB coach, and watch what happens to whoever is under center…….
As for the rest, I wish I could find a pair of those rose-colored glasses you keep donning. But I will go along with the improvements for both baseball teams, and you prediction of .500 or better. The pitching staffs will have a lot to do with those.
