February 8, 2023: On The Move

I’ll tell you what. For all the shit I talk about players publicly requesting trades, the NBA trade deadline is some pretty exciting stuff. The MLB trade deadline is up there too, but with all these players on the move in the NBA around this time, it’s definitely fun.

KD was the next big domino to fall. Right up there next to LeBron and Kyrie, with a Hate File already all to himself, this dude is good for jumping. Maybe he isn’t the one that wants to jump… maybe not THIS time, to the Phoenix Suns, but he’s definitely in on it. He pulled the whole Lebron if you can’t beat them join them thing, when he went to the Warriors from the Thunder, to trump LeBron’s super team. Then from there, out East to try to form another “super team” that never really got off the ground to be honest with you. And now, back out West, this time to the desert. Phoenix has a nice team. The West is loading up; I knew there would be moves involving the Lakers and their ownership aka Klutch Sports. They sent Westbrook packing. Here’s another guy. I talk a lot of shit about him aka WestBrick, but he sure seems to have gotten a raw deal out there in LA. He was definitely not on the same page with Mr. James, and that was his eventual downfall. Maybe he’s still got some left in the tank? Definitely don’t think he’ll be staying in Utah, but we’ll see. Utah has stockpiled some draft picks, and they have a decent core lead by our boy Lauri; maybe not this year for Utah, but watch out. The Lakers, Mavericks, and Suns have all put their bid in take the West.

How about out East? How about with our Bulls? Well, as of right now, no news yet, but… that could change in a minute; maybe before I even push the “publish” button on this blog, so I better just hurry up. I thought about trading Zach for Westbrook; I liked the idea actually. I don’t think Russ is better than Zach; one of the few guys in the league I can say that about. But… would I rather have Russ at another 1.5 years at the max, or another 4.5 with Zach at the max? This is what swayed my decision there. I like Lavine, I really do; I keep holding out hope that he can be THE guy… I just don’t see it. He’s become a glorified catch and shoot guy, per Stacey and Adam sermon each and every game. “One of the best catch and shoot guys in the league” certainly shouldn’t be our max guy… sorry. If we could somehow get out from under Max Zach, we can reload quicker. Either way, I think there will be a move made by the Bulls before the deadline; what time is it?

OK, let me post this bad boy before some more news breaks. Tick, tock… let me refresh Twitter…
