February 6, 2023: Super Props

Not a big prop guy, but for the “big game”, I have to take a look. Really not interested in the popular ones, related to Mahomes or Hurts, but I do like the Travis Kelce anytime TD; -135 on that one seems like a sucker bet, but isn’t that what all prop bets are? Or maybe there is some real money to be made here…

Couple ones that I’m looking at, are related to the running game, more specifically the running backs. The first guy that comes to my mind is Kenneth Gainwell. He’s been pretty good lately. Out of the Eagles stable of average RBs, he’s poked his head out lately. He had 48 yards on the ground vs the Niners, 112 vs the Giants, and 35 the last week of the regular season. His over/under rushing yards number for the Super Bowl? 19.5 yards… wow. Currently that is sitting at -125, but that’s tempting. Shit, that’s like one big run. That one is very tasty to me. The other Eagles RBs for reference purposes come in like this: Miles Sanders o/u 60.5 and Boston Scott o/u 7.5. Gainwell seems like the play for me out of Philly’s backfield, in a game where I think the running game will have a bigger impact than expected.

That brings us to the Chiefs backfield; we won’t get away that cheap there. Although McKinnon is at o/u 19.5, I’m not that crazy about that one; he’s more of a pass catcher. Now Clyde Edwards Helaire has been activated for the game and could be the wild card, but… my guy on KC is Isiah Pacheco; have you seen that guy run? He runs hard. Yes, his over/under total is a bit high at 48.5, -120, but I still like it. Here’s his last 5 games: 26, 95, 64, 31, 58 yards rushing. That comes out to an average of 54.8 yards per game; now I see where Papa got his number. I like it. If I’m going prop betting, Kelce TD, and some overs on the RBs is where I’ll be.

If I were to dip into some other ones… haha… that McKinnon receiving yards is kind of juicy; over/under 20.5 yards. With Pacheco running and McKinnon catching, outside of Kelce, and obviously Mahomes, the KC RBs will be the key to victory; did I officially make my SB pick already? I think I’m ready. Haven’t been swayed off the Chiefs; I’ll do my final preview shortly.

Until then, take a look at the Super Bowl prop list; it’s insane all the things you can bet on. It used to be like this for ONLY the Super Bowl, but now, with all those gambling sites/apps legal, you could bet on a percentage of this stuff for each and every game… in every sport!!! Just nuts… good luck to us all!
