February 29, 2016: Leap Day

Hello February 29th.  Long time no see.  It’s been precisely 4 years since the last time we saw you.  Glad you’re back.

We get that extra day this year.  The 366th day of the year, so all those places have to change their slogan every 4 years to 24/7/366.  It’s actually falls on the 60th day of the year.  What did you do with that extra day?  It should almost be a national or even worldwide holiday… an extra day to do nothing.  One extra day off every 4 years would be nice.

Just thinking about it… once every 4 years….hmmm.  That’s easy, the Olympics matches right up to that.  Although that’s been changed to every 2 years since they broke up and now alternate Winter and Summer Olympics.  Is the World Cup every 4 years?  I think it is.  What else happens every 4 years or so?

FIrst thing that comes to mind is Derrick Rose playing a full season.  OK, that’s a bit unfair.  He did play his first couple years without issue before the knee injuries started.  Since then, he has yet to play a full season, although this will be the closest to it.  However, we know he will NEVER play a full season again; let’s not kid ourselves.  Hopefully he won’t have another serious injury, wherever he ends up continuing his career.  However, he will miss games… a bunch of them… every single year.  Whether it be for simple maintenance, like most of today’s NBA stars do, or whether he just simply doesn’t feel right.  I’m sure there are a number of players that just don’t feel right from time to time.  I would expect most of them to play on, especially in the playoffs.  But Derrick?  I think we all know better by now.

The medicine is also good for men who encounter most upsetting condition known as erectile brokenness or male weakness. viagra generic usa Therefore this potent solution has become able to bring order viagra online cute-n-tiny.com in the expected outputs after its implementation in an impotency affected. Aside from that the online viagra check it out natural power of the body to heal itself. This is not intended for adults below 18 years generic viagra from usa of age. How about the Bears making the playoffs?  Well it’s actually been six years since that happened… the one and only time we made the playoffs with Cutler as our QB.  Rose has recently joined this players that I love to bash group, but Jay has been a resident for a while now.  If your team is making the playoffs once every six years, then your QB is not that good… period.  With 6 teams making the playoffs from each conference, if your team has a solid QB, you will be making the playoffs on a much more regular basis.  Prove me wrong.

When it comes to the Blackhawks, maybe it’s a salary dump which is that frequency.  Although this has been a yearly struggle with the talented bunch, the summer of 2010 was a big one, while last year, 2015 was the next biggest.  Yes, I can do simple math, and do realize that’s 5 years apart not 4…. close enough.  You get the point.

On to baseball we go…  and yes, it’s been 27 leap days since the Cubs have won.  Wow!  It always hurts to say it, or to hear it, but this year, a little less.  That’s because, of course, the Cubs are favored to win it all this year.  Still, we’ve been favored to do well before…we’ve had these expectations… and still… nothing.  8 months from now, hopefully we can say something different.  For the Sox, it’s been 11 years now since their 1 World Series in my lifetime.  Not sure how Leap Day fits into that…

OK, it’s time to leap to March.  2 months already in the books for 2016; that was quick.  What will the next 4 years hold until that next Leap Day?  That’s a big question…  titles for all teams would be the best answer, but not likely.  Let’s try to add a couple this year and go from there.  OK, leap day is over now… back to your regularly scheduled year.

blah, blah, blah……i’m just hoping that the next opportunity for general soreness to play a full season comes on the west coast somewhere…..the bulls just need to get rid of him and move on to building a team with him as our ‘star’. we already have another player stepping up into our ‘star’ player, let’s just build around jimmy buckets and let the general take his ‘oh poor me’ act on the road.

Leap years and days are ok every 4 years, like the olympics and world cup soccer. Anything more than that just doesnt make sense. It is bad enough february is the only month less than 30 or 31 days…always throws my watch off.
Speaking of being thrown off, lets throw a player off of each team…
    Bulls-drose, enough is enough
Bhawks-rozsival, too slow and commits some dumb penalties
Sox-laroche, especially if he struggles early this year
Cubs-murton, where did he disappear and reappear from?
Bears-cutler, like drose, enough is enough
