February 28, 2015: The Winds of Change

posted in: Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox | 2

A gust of wind blew through the Windy City on this final week of February, and brought about some major changes to the Chicago sports landscape.  One thing is for sure… there is never a dull moment.

Rose going down for the third time was a gut shot, but… now he may be able to return in a month.  I’m happy with that news, but definitely would like to see it to believe it.  If this is true, IF Rose comes back, the Bulls title hopes are still alive.  I know he opted for the cautious route the first two times, but I think you need to throw caution to the wind here.  Rose may not get many more chances to win a title.  Unfortunately, due to injuries, his career has turned into a question mark.  Will he be the same Rose?  Will he be able to come back from a 3rd knee injury?  Will he get hurt again?  Forget trying to be cautious… forget trying to play carefully.  Get yourself back on the court as soon as you can, and put it all on the line every night.  Pour everything you got into THIS season, and worry about the rest later.  You have enough money.  You don’t have to worry about long term finances.  You have a shot to win a title this year with the Bulls; go ALL IN.

Patrick Kane going down was a major blow for the Blackhawks title hopes, but they certainly have not stood pat.  Stan Bowman refused to sit back and let that injury ruin the season.  The Blackhawks have acquired a veteran defenseman, Kimmo Timonen, and now, forward Antoine Vermette.  Yes, there is no replacing Patrick Kane, but I’ll be damned if I don’t try.  Nice work Stan.  I really don’t care what we gave up.  The Blackhawks have a chance THIS year again.  The team will NOT be the same going forward.  Again, you need to push your chips into the middle, and see how that turn and river unfolds.  Are you worried about all the young players and draft picks that the Hawks have dealt recently?  The system is still stacked, and with cap troubles ahead, win now has to be #1.  I love the moves.

The winds of change didn’t stop there.  Taj Gibson sprained his ankle; not sure how long he’ll be out, but another blow to the Bulls team that has really been snakebitten.  Man, I hope Rose comes back, and Taj, and the Bulls get healthy and kick some ass this playoff season.  Then the news of a Chris Sale injury broke earlier today; an off the field foot injury that will force him to miss 3 weeks of baseball activities.  I’m just waiting for word about a Cubs injury… Actually, the only good injury news that came out this week did have to do with the Cubs, and that was the one to the Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright.  I don’t like to see injuries happen to anybody, but he is a Cardinal…
It’s an viagra 100 mg excellent opportunity to pay less. That will certainly improve his wikipedia reference viagra in blood pressure and get him off those meds, which are not performance enhancers. If you do not believe it, you can ask the pharmacist about all the available forms of medicine to know more and get the best form of the medicine and another order viagra levitra best part of kamagra chewable tablets is you get these drugs for cheaper prices than over the counter. There are a number of factors which contribute to this such as age, stress, cialis discount overnight fatigue and also psychological health.
And what about those Patrick Sharp rumors?  Did he really sleep with one of the Hawks’ wives?  That certainly ain’t cool.  Whatever happened between him and his wife, that’s his business.  Whoever he decides to sleep with, is his business.  But, you can’t sleep with one of your teammates/friends wife.  If this is true, if there was fistfight in the Hawks locker room, this is almost as bad of news as the Kane injury.  The chemistry on a team is critical when you’re trying to make that long journey to the top of the mountain.  The Blackhawks really seem like a tight knit crew.  To have something like this going on within the clubhouse is poisonous.  So they not only have to overcome a Kane injury, but locker room problems also…  Geez, let’s end this February as soon as possible.

Speaking about the end of February brings us to an important birthday.  One of the two individuals I have to thank for being on this earth and being able to bring you such a kick ass website/blog every day, is celebrating their born day today.  Happy Birthday Dad!  Speaking of all this change, there’s one thing I can count on… and that’s you being you.  Thank you for that… and thanks for your readership and support of this little venture of mine.  It’s great to have the people that really count in your corner.

March has to be better right?  Hopefully we’re breaking through this winter… hopefully we’re putting injuries behind us… hopefully we’ll see those winds of change turn directions, and push us forward, not backwards.  So we push on, regardless of what’s happened and/or what will happen, and keep our eyes on the prize.  What will 2015 hold for us next?

Drose needs to play as soon as he is healthy. This may be his last shot. His career is in jeapordy. Who knows when or if another injury will bring him down. The Bulls have a great title shot this year. Forget the past injuries or what the future may bring. Drose needs to play the rest of this year like it is his last. How sweet would it be if he and the Bulls won that title? All his critics and haters would be silenced if he brings the title back to his hometown team!
There is no replacing kaner, but the Hawks damn sure tried making sure this season ends with a Cup. Love the additions, let’s see who gets sent back to rockford…cumiskey? Teuvo?
Baseball is right around the corner and optimism is high on both sides of town…start the season right…no putting yourselves in a hole early, please.
With all those sharp rumors, I am surprised he is still here. Maybe the locker room fight and chemistry issues are really just rumors? Usually, when there is smoke, there is a fire. Hopefully, the Hawks have put it out already!
Happy Birthday Dad! Hope you enjoyed it…many more to come! Thanks for always being there papi!
Onto March, here’s to hoping our teams keep marching in the right direction toward those reachable title goals this year!

Sharp almost went to the Capitals Friday night for almost free. The deal fell through last minute. Nobody in the NHL wants his baggage. He’s gone at seasons end. The Hawk locker room is a mess and its been a mess for a while. The new acquisitions could maybe create some needed distraction or least keep Kieth from killing Sharp.
