With all the injuries the Bulls have sustained, and to STILL be tied for 1st in the East thus far, 58 games in… there have been a lot of great stories, contributions, and reasons why the Bulls are where they are, but for THE biggest reason, look no further than DD.
Even my son knew early on where this was going. He asked for a DD jersey for Christmas. My brother in law came through with an autographed red Bulls DD jersey, that my son wears for every game. He wore it to the UC when we went to the game. He wore it to school for “wear red” day. He said today in the car ride to school: DD is one of the best Bulls ever. I said, pump the brakes son. He has been tremendous, in his first 58 games as a Bull, but… it’s only been 58 games. It’s been an absolutely amazing 58 games, don’t get me wrong, but I’m not going to forget about the first 50+ years of Bulls basketball, including oh yeah, a dynasty, and a pretty damn good other run under Thibs, and that’s not even mentioning the days of Sloan, Van Lier, Gilmore. DD is on his way though… I can’t remember if I gave him top 10 or 20 at this point, but point is, it’s early…

But I’m not about that… After witnessing a dynasty, lead by the best to ever lace them up, I’m about one thing: rings. DD has said the same; we’re on the same page. We haven’t seen one since MJ retired, but if you’ve been to the House that MJ built this year, you know something special is going on, and when we get 100% healthy (if), the Bulls will be a team that nobody wants to see come playoff time. A big reason for confidence come that time, is the same reason I have confidence at the end of every close game: put the ball in DeMar’s hands and trust. He has rewarded us in a big way thus far. Looking forward to many more of those mid-range deposits, which as we’ve learned this year, is not a completely lost art. You mean we don’t have to shoot 50 treys a game to win?
