February 10, 2017: Streak Busters

posted in: Blackhawks | 1

It was those streak busters at it again on Friday night in Winnipeg.  This time, they beat the Jets for the first time this year.  After going 0-4 against them in their first four meetings, I really think the Hawks wanted this one.  The same way they came out and ended the Wild’s 8 game winning streak against them, the same importance that Coach Q put on that game, was the same way the Hawks came out on Friday night.  The result was the same:  a big win.

That’s 4 in a row on the road for those counting.  After coming out flat after the break with a loss at San Jose, which made that three in a row, the Hawks turned it around, and now hold a 4-1 record on this current road trip.  It ends Saturday night in Edmonton.

The Blackhawks don’t really hype up regular season game that much, at least not usually.  For this bunch, it’s all about the postseason.  This regular season stuff is for chumps.  But, this regular season stuff is still pretty important.  Without wins during these “meaningless” games, the second season will not exist.  So, really, every regular season game is important then.  I imagine that’s hard to keep that laser focus for each of the 82 regular season games, especially for a crew that’s won 3 Stanley Cups.

I love the way the Blackhawks have turned it up a notch on this road trip, especially the last 2 wins over the Wild and the Jets.  I guess it was easier the past 2 games… finding that motivation to play your best hockey.  I guess that shows us, reminds us, that the Blackhawks are still one of the best in the league.  We certainly have not looked like we need anybody else on this team.

A slight foreplay is required to allow commander viagra the penis to erect fully. With a combination of the core and the young guns stepping up on this 4 game winning streak, the Hawks have given us the glimpse of that team they can be when it counts.  With Crow playing well in goal… not awesome, but pretty damn good.  With our captain leading the charge.  With the Kane and the Russian line striking back.  With the young boys finding the net.  It’s all come together, and it’s all looked so good.

As usual, I’m ready for the NHL playoffs to begin.  The Hawks have shown us they’re ready.  But the schedule is not.  Still with 26 games to go, the Hawks must keep this streak going.  No, they won’t win them all, but keep this positive momentum, the good play up and down the roster, going full force.  Home ice or not, staying hot… playing their best hockey at the end of the year is helpful.

So I don’t worry about needing another scorer or another defenseman.  I don’t worry about if our goaltending will hold up.  I don’t worry about whether this latest streak means the Hawks are peaking too early.  No, a little different this year… maybe because the Cubs just won it all… or maybe because the Bears and Bulls are brutal.  No, I’m enjoying seeing the core and the youth meld together.  I’m enjoying THIS regular season, more than others.

Although Saturday night may be rough, with an early Valentine’s day dinner on the horizon, the Blackhawks are starting to become must watch TV again.  It’s like I don’t want to miss a period.  It took time to zone in due to the Cubs, but we’re there now.  The Hawks look like they are too.  Let’s keep OUR streak alive.  Go Hawks!

Lose 3 in a row and time to worry? Win 4 in a row and time to crown? Definitely not to either question. That is the thing with the Bhawks, we know who they are and what they are capable of. 3 losses in a row did not worry me. 4 straight wins on the road to answer is what the Bhawks do. Too early to crown but definitely a possibility in a few months. The Bhawks have the talent, both with the core and young guys. Crow and Darling are the dynamic duo in goal. Q and staff know what it takes…juggle the lines when need be and send messages when necessary. Watching the Bhawks this year as in years past in awesome. We know what to expect. Dont get too high or too low. The Bhawks will be in the playoffs searching for that 4th Cup. That is when the real season starts. Until then, enjoy the last 26 games and watch out for that oil slick in edmonton.
