Surely heading to Cleveland on Wednesday night wouldn’t slow down the Bulls? Well, I don’t think it was THAT per se… but something finally did them in, and that something… is COVID. As we’ve said many times over the past almost 2 years… geez 2 years?!?!… Thanks COVID.
White, Green, DeRozan… all out, on top of Williams and Caruso. It didn’t matter last game at home against the Nuggets, but it caught up to them on the road against a good young team (?) in Cleveland. Come on… really? We saw a couple familiar faces on the Cavs. First was Lauri, who didn’t exactly pull a Bread Man against us; he scored 14. Then it was Denzel, who did exactly what Denzel do… 5 minutes, not one single stat. Yet, the Cavs kicked our butts. 55% shooting including 46.4 from behind the arc is a pretty good formula. We got outrebounded, out-assisted, out-blocked, had more turnovers. Mix all of that together, and I’m guessing more times than not, in fact, maybe 90%+ of the time, that will equal a loss. Is there any time when it wouldn’t?
Heading to Cleveland always brings back good memories. The Shot over Ehlo, the Shot over Wilkins, the 69 point game, and of course in more recent vintage, the Noah quotes. Do you ever hear of anybody wanting to go on vacation in Cleveland? Joakim hit that damn nail right on the head. Now I’m sure there is plenty of fun stuff to do there, like any city, but… certainly not high on my vacation list. Unless I was going to see my teams play against the Indians or the Cavs or the Browns, I probably wouldn’t be there. Speaking of the Indians… there’s another good memory from back in 2016 dealing with Cleveland. Well, I guess they’re the Guardians now?

Certainly not going to confuse it with NYC, LA, Vegas, Miami, or of course, Chicago, but… I’m always up to visit different places, see different things. 5 hours isn’t exactly a short trip, but it’s not exactly a long one either. I guess jumping on a plane would get us there in a little over an hour. I’ll remember this post when I finally do make that visit to Cleveland. It’ll happen.
Next trip to “the Land” for the Bulls will be on March 26th; surely the Bulls will be more healthy then… surely they’ll beat them next time. Maybe even Joakim can meet us out there… See you next time Cleveland…
