If you didn’t know what was going to happen at Soldier Field on Sunday, I don’t know what to tell you. Khalil Mack is out; Akiem Hicks is out. We were fortunate to have Roquan playing. Andy Dalton was our starting QB; no sign of ARob. Kyler Murray was back for the Cardinals, who sit near the top of the NFC. I don’t care how cold or rainy it was, or that a Pacific Standard Time Zone team had to play in the midwest; I expected the Bears to lose on Sunday. For once, they did exactly as I thought… only if I could have capitalized monetarily on my feeling…
This weekend was kind of hectic, with work stuff, Christmas decorating… I heard the Bears were getting the kick in the car, but I missed the start of the game; when I saw a text from my Dad saying “NOT a good start”, I figured it was a pick. Yes, Andy would deliver 4 of those presents to the Cardinals on this afternoon, although they weren’t all his fault. Still, if you thought Dalton would lead us to victory… I know we beat Detroit on Thanksgiving, but… we knew what we were getting in Andy; this is why the big push to have Fields play. Fields gave us hope… he still does, in this whacked out season. If he’s not back at QB next week, expect more of the same; if he’s back, maybe we have a chance to win another game.

Pace should have been gone after last year; Nagy is on track to be gone in about 5 weeks, hopefully taking Pace with him. If the Bears were to bring one or both back… what are we going to do? Root for another team? Don’t think so. Like I’ve said about the players that I don’t like that play on my team over the years, I was a Bears fan before them, and I’ll be one after them. Not one person or thing will change that. Yet, surely us die hard Bears fans deserve better; I’m thankful that I was old enough to remember Super Bowl XX… Bears fans under the age of 35… nada… not one fricking Super Bowl win. Something has got to give; we keep waiting…
And as we keep waiting, still wearing our Bears gear, still supporting our team week in week out, we know that this year is pretty much flushed; the focus should certainly be on preparing ourselves for next year. Yet, there is one more thing I’d like to ask for, a Christmas miracle if you may. Beat the Packers next week. I think we’re already 13 point dogs; that makes sense. The Pack is surging, the Bears are sucking…. I did say “miracle”… If Fields plays, maybe it’s a game… maybe the expected result is a little bit more in question. Hey, that’s why we play the games, right? I expect every single person to pick the Packers to win, and rightfully so. Let me dream though… at least for one more week. Bear Down!!!
