December 5, 2014: March On

posted in: Bears | 4

The Bears continued their zombie walk through the 2014 season with another loss on Thursday Night football.  It was another embarrassment in an embarrassing season; I’m not even that mad any more.

It is what it is already.  Yeah, I let my heart think we could beat the Cowboys, but that was more about the Cowboys annual choking than having any faith in the Bears putting up a fight.  Well, the Cowboys didn’t choke this one away, and there was no way in hell we were taking it.  This team is downright pathetic.

If you look at the final score, you may think that this was a game; it wasn’t.  It was another blowout loss.  21 garbage points ain’t fooling anybody.  The only people helped in this were Jay Cutler fantasy owners.  The game was well over by the time we scored 21 4th quarter points.  It ended fittingly with another Cutler turnover; his league leading 21st.  This is our QB: the garbage point, decent fantasy league QB who leads the league in turnovers and is one of the big losers in the real NFL.  I’m sure glad we signed him to a long term deal…

You thought maybe the Bears had a shot when Marshall started making some nice catches.  The kind of catches we’ve seen him make in the past, just not so much this year.  An awesome one handed bobbling catch, followed by a big 4th down conversion got me mildly excited.  He didn’t get up from that 4th down catch; the fact is, it wouldn’t have mattered anyways.  The Bears proceeded to score a TD on that drive, easily their best drive of the game that counted.  Every so often, the Bears march down the field and actually look like an NFL offense… for a drive.  Then they go back to the CFL team disguised in Bears uniforms.

The defense has given up over 30 points for the sixth time this year.  When you don’t address the problem early, it doesn’t just miraculously change.  Yeah, it’s obvious the personnel isn’t there, but they do not look like a well coached D either.  Enjoy your last 3 games as a defensive coordinator in this league Mel.  There is no way he is back, right?

Murray looked very good out there.  Although we’ve made a lot of backs look good, he looked like the best one we’ve faced.  He ran strong, and the Cowboys used him as much as we should be using Forte.  I believe in the first half, he had over 20 touches.  Murray may have been the only back all year we saw that actually looks better than Forte.  A huge OL that knows how to run block, and an offense that knows how to use him, and a fullback…  a fullback?  Do they still exist in this league?  Yeah, they do, and Dallas showed just how effective they could be.  Nothing taken away from Murray, but any RB in this offense would be successful.  And poor Forte is stuck in this joke of an offense…

I have about as much energy typing this as the Bears have shown all year.  Why should I even write about this crap?  I’m trying really hard not to start swearing left and right.  I try not to care, not to let it bother me, not to get that mad any more… but as I type, and think about the game, and the season, I just can’t help myself.  This team is a bunch of losers.

Earlier in the week I talked about how the Bears problems are bigger than any of us think.  These problems start all the way at the top and trickle down all the way to the bottom.  I don’t see this miraculously turning around any time soon, unless MAJOR changes are made.  The fact that no changes have been made thus far into this train wreck of a season, is disturbing to say the least.

Down to 3 games left, thankfully.  This season can’t get over soon enough, and I’m sure the players feel the same way.  There is no pride out there.  There is no will to win.  There is nothing but bodies in uniforms.  There is no team.  There is no heart.  We got big problems.

And the die hard fans suffer some more.  We take our lumps again.  We take another dagger to the heart, another kick as we’re down.  This is getting pretty old.  The Cowboys did what many teams have done to us this year, and that is beat us handily.  Hey, at least they didn’t score 50…

Did you see when a RB is given a REAL chance how they do? Murray tore the Bears D a new one. WTF!! Forte can do that evey game if given a chance! Dallas D 22nd against the run and Forte 13 carries, 26 yards and don’t go nuts over the fumble, evey RB has them. Mr Bennett 12 catches, and got the crap knocked out of him on every one, while limping…still played the 4th Quarter…thats heart. Not everything is broken on the BEARS. Replace Cry Baby Cutler with Wille Young, that will spark the offense.

Tired of saying the same things about this Bears team. Until something is done to change things and shake up this franchise, we will continue to suffer frustration, disappointment, and anger with all levels of the organization.
