December 3, 2014: Bears Cowboys Preview

Two Thursday games in a row?  This must be a first.  Only 4 more games to go… can we just skip to the end?

No!  We will get some more joy out of this football season dammit, and it starts against the cowpokes.  Well, I’d love for that to be true.  Papa Vegas like the Cowboys by 3.5; are they begging people to put down some money on our Bears?  With the 3 point home field advantage, the Boys are said to be about a TD better.  I’m thinking Bears D vs a good QB cannot mean good things.  But wait, this isn’t the Patriots or the fudge Packers.  This is the Cowboys, and this is December, and this game is in Chicago.  So you’re saying we have a chance….

The Bears have the national spotlight again, and that’s scary.  How much more embarassment can we take as a fan base?  They need to give us, the fans, a shot in the arm.  They need to beat somebody down, and what better team than the Cowboys.  With a loss, the Cowboys will be following their familiar waltz out of playoff position.  After a great start, they appear ready for that stumble to week 17.  Misery loves company.  Let’s bring them down to our level.  Let’s kick their ass.  Let’s crack Romo’s back.  Let’s see Jerry Jones flip out.  Welcome to Soldier Field the most overrated team in all of sports.

Forget the wins against Minnesota and Tampa Bay.  The only good wins we’ve had all year were against the Niners, the Jets, and the Falcons.  The Jets win was only good because it was on Monday night.  I’d love to let out some frustration on Thursday night against the Cowboys.  Only if I could suit up… haha.

I remember the last time we played the Cowboys, last year on Monday night.  We pounded their ass.  I missed the first half because my car died out on the off ramp of the expressway on the coldest night of the year in rush hour traffic.  Fun times!  After a homeless man helped me push it to the nearest gas station, I waited 2 hours for a fricking tow.  Thanks Allstate!  Dropped it off at my mechanic’s shop, and couldn’t find the key drop box.  The people sleeping next to the shop offered to hold the keys for me.  Funny stuff.  FInally made it home for the 2nd half, and enjoyed every minute of that beating.  Yeah Josh McCown!

Fast forward to this year, and it’s a whole new world out there, at least for us.  We’ve bombed this year.  They owe us some more happiness.  I want 2 more wins:  this week against Dallas and Monday night against the Saints because I’ll be there.  If they could do that, IF, I would squeeze out a little happiness (that sounds funny) from the season.  Beat a team that I hate, and win a game I attend.  What do you think boys?

I have no idea what the offense will do.  They said they’ll run more with Forte this week.  This is one of the comments that makes me want to puke, because you’ve heard it all year, yet they never do it.  5 carries last week was inexcusable.  Giving the ball to 22 is a good idea… any week… all the time… Execute the gameplan Jay.  Can you handle that now that you’ve become a multi-million dollar game manager?

PIcking against the Bears failed me last week, so I’m back to picking with my heart, especially in this one, the team I hate the most after the Packers.

Back to the KISS method.  I didn’t pick him last week, and the Bears didn’t use him… go figure.

Any other team with the players and the record that the Cowboys have, I would think we’d get smashed… again.  Because it’s the Cowboys, I have a glimmer of hope.  Because it’s the Cowboys, and it’s December, and we’re home, I think we have a shot.  A shot to make one more good memory out of the season that has had very few.  I’ll be watching, as usual, waiting to smile again.  Smile for me now brother!
