December 29, 2021: The Purpose of Twitter

I saw something on Twitter after the Bulls beat the Hawks on Wednesday night at the UC. The caption said something like Trae Young takes a picture with his father, and it was Ayo Dosunmu’s face on the father, and Trae Young’s face on the kid. Fricking hilarious. I thought… this is the purpose of Twitter… not all that other shit.

I stayed away from social media period for a long time. Facebook… never had it. I thought Twitter would be cool, would suit my needs… not in finding out what the hell is happening in the world, but in following my sports teams, getting those little tidbits, seeing links to some good articles, etc. Twitter definitely serves its purpose there. I’m able to post a link to this blog every day too, which is cool, although not many folks are reading it per se… that’s OK too; I always remind myself why I do this, and it’s therapy dammit! Unfortunately, all kinds of other shit comes in my timeline on Twitter, stuff I could give two shits about… but whatever. To each is own man; I don’t get too fired up about all the BS that I see.

Unless of course I’m seeing folks say Lebron Blames is better than MJ… haha. That’s the one thing that boggles my fricking mind. I can respect most opinions on sports, no doubt… there are plenty of them. But anyone who actually thinks Lebron is better than MJ… that’s all I need to hear. I mean, if you’re that stupid, I don’t need to hear anything else coming out of your mouth, period. I ignore it, plain and simple… and of course, follow all the folks posting cool MJ shit; you can never get enough MJ… Those memories… whew… yeah, I started watching The Last Dance for the 3rd, maybe 4th time… it’s only because my wife can’t commit to watching a new show with me, so I just watch that… haha.

But yeah, there is a lot of cool stuff out there, like Ayo being Trae Young’s daddy. It’s true though. If you watched the game, Trae doesn’t want any part trying to take Ayo to the rim; he got rejected for the 2nd time in as many games on Wednesday night by the rookie. In the first game, he resorted to taking 3s from 5 feet behind the line; in this game, he got a little closer, and actually dropped a few in. Trae is a good player, no doubt… a little too much of a flopper, looking for calling, complaining to the refs for me, but… this new generation has learned this from watching Lebron, so it makes sense. Poor Trae… have to lock him up and make him watch MJ highlights… that’ll get him right. I’m sure Ayo growing up in Chicago knows all about that…

So yeah, ready to kick off the New Year on 12/31 with the Bulls Pacers game at 2pm. I’ll be working, but should be home by mid-2nd quarter or so. Let’s end the year with another win Bullies, although I’m a little worried about how tough the Pacers play us… and being in their building… although I hear they have some COVID cases too; we have to beat whoever is on the court, can’t worry about that. The Bulls already have been through that ringer; hopefully most of that is behind us now. Let’s end the year on a high note, and look forward to big things from the Bulls in 2022. Go Bulls!!!
