December 28, 2022: Big Surprise

posted in: Bulls | 0

With all of us being on vacation this week, we would have normally been locked in for Wednesday night’s Bulls game at the UC vs the Bucks. However, we did have some other plans on this evening… Yeah, we went downtown to watch The Lion King, the #1 Broadway show in the world… I think that’s what the playbill said. It did live up to that billing. Really good show. One reason I know that is because I didn’t fall asleep… haha. Yeah, something different for this evening. It wasn’t until we got home and were getting to bed that I found out what the result of that Bulls game was; what a big surprise!

Yeah, the Bulls won; go figure. Fresh off my latest blow it up, trade Lavine and Vooch talk after a horrible game on Monday night vs the Rockets, they come back and do this. Lavine and Vooch did score a combined 39 points on 13-30 from the floor, yet it was our #1 guy, DeMar DeRozan who would score 42, his 2nd highest output of the season in this one, to get the Bulls the W. Does this take away all the bad stuff I’ve been saying about this team? No. But after a big win like this, I’m not going to bring any rain on this parade. The Bucks were the 2nd best team in the East heading into this one; to beat them, again… the roller coaster ride headed up the tracks on this night.

I did see some highlights. The first one I saw was the Grayson Allen play. What a piece of shit right? He did get bumped by Patrick Williams, no doubt, but not to the point where he continued it, with an elbow to DD, knocking him down on the court. DD got up, pissed, and rightfully so. Damn this would have been the game to go to! Haha… It didn’t get ugly, like the Detroit Orlando game this evening, but man… I heard Stacey and Adam talking about it, and yeah, Allen does need to learn his lesson. I don’t follow the guy, why would I, but he has his rep; we’ve seen it a couple times ourselves… I guess there are others. His little antics are going to get his ass kicked one day; somebody needs to deliver a hard foul or two to this dude; calling Andre Drummond… that’s for a future game.

The next highlight I saw was the play that sent this to OT. Fittingly, it was DD stealing a pass from Grayson Allen that started the game tying play. He would pass it to a streaking Ayo, who would dunk it, just before Giannis could swat it. Actually, he did hit Ayo’s hand, it could have been a 3 point play, but no worries. The Bulls would take care of business in OT, and get a really nice win. What is up with this team?

150 and 133 to the Wolves and Rockets respectively in the two ugliest losses of the season. Now, 2 wins against the Bucks, and 1 against the best team in the league the Celtics sit on the positive side of things. I can’t figure my team out. Last year, we couldn’t beat the best teams in the league; this year, we can’t beat the worst teams in the league. I’m not going to try to figure them out, at least not tonight. No, I’m going to enjoy this win. Go Bulls!
