Have you been to the UC this year? It was our first trip on Wednesday night; A+ experience!
It’s always fun to go to a live sporting event; I don’t think that will ever get old. When we had season tickets, it didn’t exactly get old, but going to so many games took a little luster off it…not right away, but a couple years in. I don’t ever want that to happen. I never want to take that for granted. Some people aren’t as lucky to be able to go to a game. On Wednesday, even though we’d been to the UC a hundred times, it felt like it was the New UC.
The extension built to the east of the stadium was very cool. They have a huge atrium type area where there was a DJ, you could buy drinks, and of course the MJ statue, always a fan favorite. Then there was the huge Bulls-Blackhawks store. Prepare to spend some bucks walking through there. So much cool stuff. There was an El car to take a picture in, a video board to look a the history of the team, a huge Stanley Cup trophy, and a huge Larry O’Brien trophy. It definitely added to the game experience.
We didn’t park over there; can still find that free street parking next to the $24 lot if you’re lucky; we were. Then it was $5 food night. Pizza, nachos, hot dogs, pops, and beer were all five dollars; bottle of water were $2.50. That’s still more expensive than getting it elsewhere, but for in-game fare, you’re saving some bucks; that’s always a plus. That leaves the most important thing; the product on the court.
It turned out to be one of the more exciting games we’ve been to. The Bulls continued their hot play, winning their 10th out of 12 games with an exciting win over the Knicks. They trailed big early, and were behind for almost the whole game. Not until Markkanen dunked it late did we have the lead. The crowd was into it big time; so were we.

My son, another year older, actually sat in his seat the whole game. Only a walk at halftime missing some plate spinning half time show that nobody cared about; still don’t get why there aren’t better halftime shows. He had a ball…all the music, dancing, cheering… It was the type of game that will make me look for more tickets.
I wasn’t happy that Noah didn’t play; I wanted to give him a standing O when he came in. He did greet all the Bulls players after the game and signed a bunch of autographs; gotta love Jo. Another site seen was someone wearing a Pujols Angels jersey over his Bulls jersey. I wanted to ask him what the hell he was thinking.
Other than that sight, it was an awesome night. The Bulls win topped it all off, and we were beep beeping our way home. We could have waited in line to get a pic with Stacey, but got one of those already. We did add one with Kendall and Wennington on this evening. I told Bill about his GW dunk in the double nickel game figuring not many people would remember that, but maybe that is his most famous moment as a Bull? Very cool guys, both of them, for letting my wife take photos with my son and I. It just added to the night.
I have a feeling we’ll be back sooner than later. I got a feeling this Bulls streak isn’t just some flash in the pan, and that this season won’t be tanked. Looking forward to both. Go Bulls!

Have not been to the UC this year but will be in 2 weeks. Where will the Bulls be then? TBD. Can’t wait to see the new extension. If it is anything near like the new outdoor Wrigley set up, it will be pretty damn cool. Back to the 10 wins in 12 games Bulls, pretty impressive. How long will it last? Wennington has to get that game winning dunk in the double nickel game quite a bit. Can’t really remember another memorable moment for him. As for Gill, his nba career is a blur, but I do remember his days with the Fightin Illini! Still nice to get a pic with both of them. Can’t wait to get some pics of my own in 2 weeks. Hoping the Bulls are still rolling…GO BULLS!!!
