December 27, 2016: Battling

posted in: Bulls | 1

You’re still watching the Bulls, right?  I am… as much as I can.  They got a nice win at the UC on Monday night after getting slapped by the Spurs on Christmas.  It’s been a rough stretch lately; the Bulls are battling for their playoff lives at this point in the season.  Still have a long way to go…

At 31 games in, the Bulls are 15-16.  Although it is disappointing to see the Bulls under 500, it’s not that surprising.  I pegged us as a 500 team from the get go.  A few big wins against some quality opponents had me thinking bigger for a minute, but that was short lived.

After beating Cleveland on December 2nd, the Bulls have went 4-9.  Once thought to be in that discussion as top team in the East after the Cavs, the Bulls are in the middle of the pack.  There are 9 teams within 3 games of each other.  Five of those teams would currently be in the playoffs, while the other four sit on the outside looking in.  The Bulls are currently the 7 seed.

They are definitely battling something, but what?  Is everybody still gelling?  They do have a lot of new players.  Wade, Rondo, Lopez, Grant, Carter-Williams,Canaan, Valentine, Zipser, and Hunter are the new pieces.  That far outnumbers the six returning guys.  If so, how many games will it take for this unit to come together?

I would like to believe that is the reason.  Going with that reasoning, the Bulls will continue to get better, and will be playing their best ball at the end of the season.  Or I guess they could never gel…

You might be wondering what cialis sales australia allows these online pharmacies to sell these drugs at such low prices. Maybe they’re battling because of the poor coaching.  I’m one of the people who doesn’t think much of Fredberg.  Does he have it in him to be an NBA coach?  He wasn’t even that great of a college coach, right?  Gar’s buddy is on the bust path, although at the end of the day, it’s a lot more about the players.  Although that’s in Gar’s court too, right?

So the battling may be because of the insufficient talent on the court.  GarPax has slapped together a one year, two at best, team that can barely compete.  I’ve preached on this one already; we need a plan.  We don’t need a band aid.  Maybe at the end of the day, this team is just not that good.

But I’ve seen flashes…  we’ve seen them beat some very good teams like I mentioned above.  The Cavs, the Spurs, the….  well, I guess we have 2 nice wins.  We have beat Miami twice, but they suck.  We have beat Portland, but they’re worse than us.  We’ve beaten the Pacers twice which is important because they’re one of those teams in the pack.  Here’s the thing… the Bulls have had one of the easiest schedules in the NBA thus far; that’s pretty scary.

If the Bulls are already battling, they’re going to have to amp that up.  They’re going to have to get it together to even make the playoffs.  It could get uglier than it has been.  I’m trying to be positive, but it just ain’t looking good.  That’s why my suggestion to get younger ASAP while we can still trade some of our assets.

Nice to see a win on Monday night; each win should be cherished… they will not be easy to come by… we may not see a whole lot of them.  But, I want to see the Bulls keep battling.  I want to see them play hard.  I want to see Hoiberg get the most out of these guys that GarPax have put together, although one guy already did, and he’s gone.  Still, as long as they’re out there battling, I will be supporting.  It ain’t gonna be easy, but as always, Go Bulls!

I think the Bulls are battling themselves just as much, if not more, than their opponents. If they cannot get themselves right and in tune with fredberg, how can they be right against other teams? A much needed win in game 2 of the back to back after losing to the spurs on Christmas. Time to get back to .500 and stay above so they dont have to sweat out a playoff spot all year. Get it together Bulls and start stampeding!
