There’s just something really satisfying about watching football in the snow. I used to love playing football in the snow. Like the season, the snow brings back feelings. Sure, maybe you’re pissed because you have to shovel or clean off your car, and if you’ve been doing this for a few decades, maybe you’re tired of it; I’m not there yet. Regardless if my back is jacked up, I still enjoy shoveling. I don’t have that much to shovel, but I find it therapeutic. I think of lighting up my cigar, shoveling the snow, and finding peace… as long as I don’t end up laying down face first in the snow from a heart attack, it sounds pretty good. My car… yeah, I make sure it’s 100% clean; hate those people who leave a foot on top of their cars… I may have wrote about it here. Anyways, the meaningless Bears game that took place on Sunday afternoon in Seattle, was brought a little bit of meaning by that white stuff… snow for the win!
Yeah, not THAT white stuff; fricking mind is in the gutter huh? I may or may not have enjoyed that white stuff for a bit, but we’re talking about the precipitation that falls when conditions are below freezing. And yes, the field was covered on Sunday; I immediately became a bit more interested in the Bears game. Honestly, I was trying to be really comfortable watching the game. Yeah, my back is jacked again… this time can’t seem to shake it via multiple visits to the chiro. We’ll see… but this comfortable position leads to sleep a lot of times; it was the same on this Sunday after Christmas. The preceding two days of festivities helped, as did the Bears starting QB Nick Foles; he’s still here? I’ve seen people make a point that HE should have been the backup instead of the Bears wasting money on ANOTHER backup in Andy Dalton; makes sense to me, especially with the way everything played out. The may look different, but they run with about the same amount of speed, and both fill that backup, retread QB position well. Hoping to not see them for more than 2-3 games tops per season, with hopes of pulling out 1 of those games, not sure why the Bears felt the need to invest in the same exact thing… it’s not like they have any other needs… and then naming Dalton the starter… and trying to stick with it. Fun year man…

I don’t care that it doesn’t matter in the standings; I don’t care that it hurts our draft position. Winning always matters, period. It’s about changing that culture, that feeling in the locker room; it’s about providing some confidence, about getting better, about being more prepared for the next time when it DOES count. I’m a firm believer in that. With the Giants next week, could be looking at a 2 game winning streak; with the unimpressive Vikings to follow, maybe ending the year on a 3 game winning streak? Don’t worry, this should have no bearing on the offseason changes that need to take place, but it SHOULD matter to those players, most importantly those guys that will be back in a Bears uniform next year. Thanks for the win boys… too little too late, but who cares. Bear Down!!!
