December 21, 2023: Bulls Swing

How about those Bulls?!?! Yeah, talk about a swing… I was totally disgusted with this team early in the year, looking forward to an absolute shit show of a season, even worse than last year. Then Lavine got “hurt”… Since Zach has been out after his stellar 2 point performance in Boston, the Bulls have went 8-3. Let me tell you… it looks like a completely different team. The Bulls are cooking and I’m here for it!

And no, we didn’t play the Pistons in all 11 games. Funny enough… the Pistons last win was against us; since then… 25 straight losses… no BS. The Bulls have beaten the Bucks, the Heat, the Sixers, and even the in-season tourney champs (what a joke!) the Lakers. It’s real; this isn’t just some flash in the pan. Now I’m not punching my ticket to the parade this summer, but what I am saying is that THIS Bulls team WILL be in the playoffs. Currently, we’re only 0.5 game out of the 10 spot, and still 4 games under 500. Geez, how bad were we before this revelation? Well… with Zach Lavine the Bulls winning percentage was 28%… without him… 64%. I’m just stating the facts…

Please tell me you’re not one of those guys (that doesn’t work for the Bulls, call their games, or report on them on a daily basis) that wants Zach back. That ship has sailed my friends. I thought Zach was going to escort LeBron to his locker this week after the Bulls bashed their skulls in. Thought maybe they’d have a Klutch party, counting down the days until Zach arrives in LA; looks like they need the “help” more than we do actually. It was kind of funny when the camera cut away when LeBron went up to Zach after the game… connect the dots as you wish. Anyone say “tampering”??? But you know what… I’m fine with it. Tamper away LBJ and Klutch… tamper away. Just don’t tell me we’re getting that Reaves “I live on the fake ass foul calls” kid. Honestly though, I don’t care who we get, just as long as the other team takes Zach and his entire salary.

Is this a bit harsh? Maybe, but we’ve been patient, haven’t we? And do we honestly think if/when Zach comes back, things will look the same as they have in these past 11 games? Not sure you can say that since we’ve seen that version for a few years already, and spoiler alert, it hasn’t been pretty most of the time. The offense flows better. The guys are playing harder. They look like they’re having fun. We’re seeing things we’ve only dreamed of seeing… Coby blossoming into a borderline, heck, legitimate NBA All Star. Patrick Williams finally living up to his draft position. It’s pretty damn cool, and I don’t want anything to deter us from this current path we’re on.

This has been such a pleasant surprise; I really can’t get over it. I’m so happy. When we were planning on going to the Bulls holiday game this Saturday against Cleveland at the UC, I wasn’t that thrilled… now? I can’t wait to see this newfangled Bulls squad minus Lavine in person. This has been fun; this trip to the UC is going to be fun. I can’t wait. Go Bulls!!!
