Do I really have to talk about the Bears game? I missed most of the first half; we made another trip to Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo. It was the perfect night for it… well, not perfect; if it were snowing, it would have been perfect. Where is the snow by the way? I seem to remember a lot of White Christmases growing up; not so much lately. Maybe that whole global warming thing. Anyways, the temperature was cold enough to make it feel like winter, but not cold enough to freeze our asses off. By the time we got in the car to come home, it was mid 2nd quarter; the score was 10-0 Vikings. I wasn’t surprised. The Bears season is over; it has been. Now, it’s officially official: the Bears have been eliminated from postseason contention. Another disappointing year has to lead to change, right? I hope so, and I hope it will lead to something.
I always think of the folks that weren’t around to see the Bears win their one and only Super Bowl. As of today, anybody under 35 years old falls into that category. By no means is it getting into Cubs territory yet, but for those folks who have never seen one it is. I’m just thankful that I was alive to see it, and old enough at the time to remember how that season felt week in week out; how it felt for the Bears to be the kings of the NFL. There’s a reason why the 85 Bears don’t die in our hearts; they were every bit as good as the legend. I’d rather talk more about that team than any other Bears team since then; I really don’t even want to talk about the Bears today, but let’s give it a spin.
