December 18, 2020: Week 15 Preview Bears at Vikings

So you’re feeling pretty good about that win over the Texans… Yeah, why not? The Bears won for the first time since October, heck yeah I’m going to be happy about that. Like I said, that’s what I hope for every time I tune into the Bears… a WIN!!! And we finally got one, so excuse me while I enjoy it for a second… OK time’s up, who’s next? That’d be the Vikings in Minnesota, as if home field advantage even matters this year. It will be a rematch of the game that took me out this year.

Yes, the Monday Night debacle that caused me to pen the blog titled “kill them all” after Bears loss #4 in a row on their way to 6. I was done after that game, so even after a loss to the Packers and the pathetic Lions, I couldn’t get more upset. I don’t want to relive that loss, but I seem to remember chump ass Kirk Cousins pumping his fist after a late first down… what a joke. It was the first loss to the Vikings in the Matt Nagy era.

The defense redeemed themselves against a short handed Texans team on Sunday. After being on a milk carton against Green Bay and Detroit, they came back home to wreak havoc. Although it was outstanding to see the offense score points, THIS was the best part of the game. That thing you can count on, something you can always rely on came back; it was great to see. Are they here to stay? We did shut down Cook last time around, but for some reason Cousins threw all over us. I’d love to think there’s some revenge on the mind of the defense heading into this one.

And about that offense… Mitch is back is what I see a lot on Twitter. Hey, I’m just as happy for him, but to think that Trubisky is anything more than what we’ve seen for 3 years is… crazy. He did well against a shit team; we’ve seen this before, even in the train wreck of a season last year was… but he was injured last year right? And then there’s the offensive coordinator saying we played to Mitch’s strengths last week… last week? Don’t even get me started. I don’t doubt that the offensive play calling hasn’t been the best for Mitch, but I remember too many times that it was good enough and Mitch just didn’t see a wide open target or overthrew one. I get every QB not named Mahomes has one of those every once in a while, but it was more than once in a while. I’m not going to let one good game trump three years of evidence. That being said, I hope he follows it up with another good performance this week, because I want to beat the Vikings and shove it up Cousins’ ass.

Final Score Prediction: Bears 27 Vikings 17

Ace in the Hole: Mitch 3 TDs

Winning is a crazy thing… that mojo… that confidence. I think the Bears DO ride the wave for another week and beat the team they’ve beaten 4 out of the last 5 times. Playoffs are still a stretch, but another win in 2020 will be truly appreciated. Bear Down!!!
