December 18, 2015: Week 15 Bears at Vikings

posted in: Bears | 1

Do we have to?  Yes. The Bears start to play out the string in Minnesota on Sunday. Do they really have something to play for?

It’s a little something called pride. The 2014 version had none of that. We’ll see how much this version has. I think they’ll play well, but probably not well enough…at least not this week. We had our chance to make something happen vs two sub par opponents, but fell flat on our faces. Time to pick ourselves off the mat.

The good news is that we’re back on the road and back in the underdog role; we’ve done better in this specific scenario. The Vikes are favored by 5.5 currently.  That’s such a weird line in general… That five and a hook. I wonder what the splits are on that over the years…between favorites and dogs. I’m leaning favorite here.

I haven’t listened to as much sports radio this week, so not sure how bad Robbie is getting crucified.  The most accurate kicker in Bears history has had a rough couple weeks.  Let’s see if he can break out of it this week. If he doesn’t, he may be done here. That’s pretty hard to believe.

Let’s enjoy the last few games with 22 on the field.  Another of the long tenured Bears will most likely be outta here.  I wanted to keep him, but if the choice had already been made, it’s sucks that we’ll get nothing for him.  MartySaurus will be gone. Alshon? Cutler? Gase? Fangio?

There may be a lot of change on the horizon. For all the feelings of heading in the right direction the first year under Fox, a 5-11 record really won’t reflect that. An 8-8 record would.  I’m opposed to tanking for that draft pick, and this year is no different. Big difference heading into the offseason 5-11 vs 8-8. Most likely they’ll end up at 6 or 7. 500 would be a pleasant surprise, although that’s what I predicted.

The Vikings were on a roll; key word were.  If they keep their losing ways up, they may be on the outside looking in when it comes to the NFC playoffs.  You’d think they’d be fired up, but never can tell in this league.  We should have beat them in Soldier Field earlier this year.  Are they that much better than Da Bears?

Final Score Predictor:  Vikings 27 Bears 17

Ace in the Hole:  Matt Forte 125 tds with a TD

Again, I hope I’m wrong here, but I’m deflated, and not sure if I will pick the Bears to win again this year.  I will be picking Forte as my Ace every week, since I may not be able to do that next year  Bear Down!

2014 Bears get smashed in this game. New year, new staff, different team. I think the Bears come out and win this game…would go along with the rest of their year thus far. Bears should have beat the viqes at home but will get some payback today…

Cutler continues his good year with 300+ and 3tds.
