December 15, 2023: Week 15 Preview Bears at Browns

posted in: Bears | 0

Anybody remember the last time we played the Brownies? It was ugly. I think Myles Garrett sacked Fields like 12 times. I prefer to mention a better memory of the Browns. It was the game we made a remarkable comeback topped by a Mike Brown game winning Pick 6 in OT at Soldier Field. That game marked the berth of “you gotta have faith!” at our viewing venue with friends. Fun times… so many fun times. Let’s hope this Sunday’s matchup is more like that one than the last time we were in Cleveland.

The Browns are favored by 3.5; I bet the Bears already. It’s so tough… I can never tell if it’s my heart that’s guiding me that direction or my head. Can never remove the heart from the equation with the Bears; absolutely try to avoid betting against them at all costs. I would be on them every single game because I love the Bears, but that isn’t what sports betting is supposed to be about. Still, I do think the Bears have a good chance on Sunday. If Detroit was our toughest remaining game, this would be the 2nd. If we’re already whispering playoffs and winning out now, just wait until we beat Cleveland… IF we beat them… WHEN we beat them. Yes, the confidence, belief is back full force; you know how dangerous that can be. Get so excited before the Bears revert to shit and we have our guts taken out again… it’s the circle of life for a die hard fan…

Joe Flacco is at the helm for the Browns; he’s been… good. For a guy who was sitting on his couch a few weeks ago watching NFL ticket, to be back in the game… not bad. How long will it last? This guy is notoriously a statue in the pocket; can the Bears pressure him? We’ll have to do it down a defensive lineman, as that one dude broke his ankle and is out for the year. But we still have Sweat… and that my friends, should be enough.

Final Score Prediction: Bears 17 Browns 16

Ace in the Hole: Bears Defense– 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 INTs

Yes, the Browns defense is known as one of the best in the league, but don’t look now… the Bears have risen the ranks in the past few weeks; #1 against the run! Legit or no? Certainly Cleveland is no offensive juggernaut, BUT if the Bears defense can outplay their counterparts from the Cleveland side of defense, I think the Bears win this game. The offense can help this outcome of course, by protecting Fields, and protecting the ball. Let’s win the turnover battle. Let’s win the field position battle. Let’s get a gritty win on the road against a potential AFC playoff team. Do this, and we’ll talk playoffs. Do it not, and, well, it was a nice run while it lasted. Doubling our win total would still be in play, which, is… something. I’d prefer to talk playoffs. Bear Down!!!
