December 14, 2016: Whatever It Takes

posted in: Blackhawks | 1

Time to get current with the blog… Last time we spoke, we were talking about Thibs and his return to the UC; since then, a lot more has happened with the Bulls.  But we’re saving that story…  For today’s post, we’re going back to our champions.  The Blackhawks continue to lead the Western Conference.  They’ve been doing whatever it takes to win this year, but we should already be used to that.

A big example of that is come every single off season.  The Blackhawks keep their core together, and then build around it.  In the process, the Blackhawks have remained near the top of the NHL.  In the process, the Blackhawks have lost a lot of guys.  As they make their way through the NHL schedule, we are bound to see some ex-Hawks.  This past week was no different.

I can’t even keep track of where they all go.  I know Saad is with Columbus; he was the one guy I didn’t want to see go.  And oh yeah, have you seen where they are in the standings?  Yes, the Blue Jackets have become a force to be reckoned with, led partly by Brandon Saad.  We still will play them one more time this year.  I guess it’s a good thing they’re in the Eastern Conference.

The Rangers have a bunch of ex-Hawks.  We ended up splitting with them this year, with the road team winning on both occasions.  Antti Raanta, member of the 2015 champs, is tending goal behind King Henrik in New York.  He looked pretty good against us.  The Rangers also have Pirri and Hayes… 2 young guys who didn’t cut it with the Hawks, and are now both off doing well, Hayes better than Pirri, with their new team.  Staying in New York, the Hawks won a close game with the Islanders.  Another team, another ex-Hawk.  Andrew Laad was the guy this time, playing with another new team.  Not that crazy about their stadium or their new uniforms, but was definitely happy to get the win.
We will now see viagra stores here some herbal treatment for early discharge and erectile dysfunction in males. Whether it’s Byfuglien with the Jets or Niemi, Oduya, or Sharp, who’s on IR right now, with the Stars, or any of the other guys that I mentioned above, plus all the other guys I haven’t, Blackhawks dominate the NHL.  Whether in the standings, or on multiple teams’ rosters, you cannot ignore the greatness of this Blackhawks and the current stretch for this franchise.  This year has been no different than the last 8 years.

This year it’s been winning those close games.  14 out of the 20 Blackhawks victories have come in the one goal variety.  Again, whatever it takes.  Toews was out for a period of time, get it done.  Crow is still out, get it done.  I like what Darling, the guy who will be a free agent at the end of this season, said about his play.  He said he’s not auditioning for other teams, he’s auditioning for the Blackhawks.  Local boy made good obviously wants to stay with this franchise, and not become one of those other ex-Hawks in the league.  I like Scott.  And oh yeah, did you see that helmet he’ll be wearing in the Winter Classic against St. Louis this year?  If not, check it out.  It’s a tribute to the Chicago Cubs championship team… perfect to wear that in Busch Stadium in St. Louis.  That made me really happy.

The Hawks continue to do that too.  Who knows how long they will keep this up, but we definitely need to appreciate what we are seeing.  We shouldn’t take it for granted.  It won’t always be like this.  So for now, let’s enjoy it, and take advantage.  Let’s get that 4th Cup.  Go Hawks!

Bhawks continue to roll. No matter what, Q and the core stays intact while they just build the pieces around them. It is a strategy that has obviously worked with 3 Cups this decade. If the Bhawks win another this year, which is very possible, that would be 4 Cups in 8 years, and the dynasty talks could resume. That would be quite an achievement considering the free agent and salary cap era. We are definitely lucky to see this Bhawks franchise in action year after year. Who knows how long it will last but enjoy it…and win that 4th Cup! GO HAWKS!!!
