Well, it was bound to happen eventually. The Bears won a game. Do you remember how that feels? Yeah, pretty fricking good. So my brother in law was wrong… they did win another game; whew!
I don’t care what it means in the big picture, playoffs or not, high draft pick or not. I like to see the Bears win. Sunday’s drought ending victory over the Texans was like chicken soup for the die hard soul. Funny thing, I didn’t even see the whole game. By the time I sat down to watch the game, it was already 14-7 Bears. Honestly, I was surprised we did end up building on that lead, and eventually win. I did not think that was going to happen.
I thought Deshaun would come in here and show us why we should have picked him. And yes, regardless of the outcome of this game, we still should have chosen him. I’m glad Mitch played well in this one; I’ll always be happy for that, as long as he is in a Bears uniform, which is about 3 more games by the way. Forget about Mahomes… the decision to pick Mitch over Deshaun was the wrong one, period.
But yeah, damn, Mitch played great in this one; it was fun to see. It was shocking to see the offense score points… Montgomery run like he did, Trubisky throw like he did. And yes, it was great to see the defense we have counted on for a long time, return to itself after a 2 week absence. That has always been our calling card; we need to be able to rely on something. What does it all mean?

Sure, was there a quick trigger on replacing Mitch? Yes; don’t tell me you didn’t understand why. Was there an equally slow trigger in replacing Nick? Yes. However, if you’re going to tell me our record would be better or worse by more than 1 game at this time because of those decisions, I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you. Sure, could the 1 game come down to making the playoffs or not? Maybe. Will it matter in the long run? Probably not.
I hope the Bears DO win out. I hope they somehow get into the playoffs. I hope they somehow win a game. I hope they win the Super Bowl for God’s sake. I also hope I win a million dollars on a scratch off ticket. I’m not going to stop trying, or stop rooting for them to do it, I just have to try to be reasonable.
It’s not easy being reasonable when you’re a die hard fan. You always have those rose colored glasses on. This season has been rough; my moment when I tapped out was MNF vs Minnesota. Who do the Bears play next week? Beat them and then let’s talk. Bear Down!
