December 12, 2014: Bears Saints Preview

Yes, the Bears are still playing.  This week, of all weeks, the Bears seem more irrelevant than ever.  Besides the Blackhawks, who by the way have won 8 straight, and the Bulls, where Derrick Rose has played in 8 straight, the Cubs and the White Sox have even overshadowed this Bears team with their offseason splashes at the winter meetings this week.  Nonetheless, it is the Bears, and they do only play 16 games, so we turn our attention to the disappointment bowl.

Misery loves company.  The Bears and Saints could be 1 & 2 on the list of most disappointing NFL teams this year.  The only difference, is that the Saints, playing in the worst division in football, still have a chance to make the playoffs by winning their division, which will require an under .500 record.  Now if the Bears could only be in their division… 

Papa Vegas likes the Saints by 3.  This is a joke right?  I’d pound the ever living hell out of the Saints on Monday night.  The Bears season is over.  The Saints are still playing for a playoff home game.  Maybe that’s why the Bears pull this one out?  That would make PV happy.  Still, it’s hard to imagine that.  It’s easy to imagine Drew Brees walking in here on Monday night and throwing all over the field.  It’s easy to see another blowout, which of course, has to happen on national TV… again.  It’s bad enough to try playing out the end of an embarassing season.  It’s even worse to share that with the nation, but there is plenty to talk about…

So Aaron Kromer is the mole…  He admits to speaking to a national reporter regarding what happens behind closed doors in the train wreck that is the Bears offense.  Is this surprising?  Everything we have thought all year long, everything you hear about the dysfunction that is the Bears, is now proven out.  You know the thing that should happen next…the same thing that should have happened to Tucker after Green Bay… the same thing that should have happened to the special teams coordinator at some point… Kromer should get canned.  The sad thing is, nothing will probably happen.  Let’s all hold hands and stay on this sinking ship together and do NOTHING about it… WTF?!?!

Truth is, the entire coaching staff should be gone.  Truth is, Cutler is a big part of the problem.  Truth is, Emery is the conductor of this mess.  There are many problems here, and something needs to be done about something.  I would err on the side of more change if I was the Bears. 

Yet, we still have 3 games to go.  THREE GAMES!  Tough task for the players, BUT they MUST play on.  I’ve mentioned it before, I’ll say it again… they have to be above all of this.  They need to play for personal pride.  They need to earn their money.  They should want to play for us; we have to try to stay above all the BS too.  Again, we ask for a shot in the arm on Monday night.

How will Cutler and the offense do after this latest revelation?  Will Kromer even be coaching on Monday night, fittingly against his ex-team?  How does Forte stay above the crap?  Again, Carolina put a hurting on the Saints last week IN the dome.  Come on guys… put up a big #.

Yeah, why not?  I’m not a fan of his, but at the same time, Kromer should have kept his damn mouth shut.  You have to think what was uncovered is only the tip of the iceberg.

The thing is, even if he was telling the truth, you have to handle that internally.  This just shows the dysfunction that is the 2014 Bears.  Losing only makes things worse.  Let’s give everybody a breather on Monday night.
