What, did you think I wanted to write about that Cubs blowout loss? Nah.. chalk it up, keep it moving. Let’s check in on the next Chicago team that will be gracing us with their presence shortly… not the Sox, DA Bears. Yeah, they’re busy camping right now, but man am I ready.
I thought maybe I’d get down there this year with my son… maybe next year? I only made the trek downstate one year, many moons ago; it was a blast of course. I even looked at the family day they had at Soldier Field this past Saturday; prior engagements kept me from exploring further. I did get to enjoy that fireworks show though… Yeah, so I guess that brings us to preseason. I could see maybe sneaking to see one of those games, just to get my son back in Soldier Field. Not sure how tickets will be looking… scratch that; I DO know how tickets will be looking, and they won’t be cheap. Still, I think I can get us to another game. I just got a text from one of the dads from my son’s school. I know we had a couple drinks in us when he was telling me this a few months back, but he remembered… he said he was going to take me to a game this year; his recent text confirmed that. I’m just waiting to see which game it will be. Heck yeah!
I’ve also been seeing a lot of talk about Mitch in the national media… and how NOT good he’s going to be. That’s funny. I’m not saying he’s going to be all-pro or anything, although I may be looking to grab him in my fantasy league this year, but I do think he’ll be decent. And if he’s decent, with our defense… the one that supposedly is going to take a hit without Vic… some more BS, we should be in good shape. There is the whole running game question, but from the early returns, Montgomery looks legit. I did read a pretty cool article about him… the guy, not necessarily the player. To me that makes a big difference. To hear that someone on my team is a good guy, and does a lot of good things outside of football, makes me want to cheer that much harder for him. Don’t get me wrong… I cheer for everyone on my teams, but for the good guys, a little harder. I almost feel like those guys have it coming… good things that is. And if that’s true, then that’s good things for my team… OR maybe it’s just good things for them personally, off the field, which is probably better than on the field for them, but anyways…

I saw that Nagy sent Rich Eisen from NFL network some Bears visors… for the “follically” challenged; I guess I could use one of those too. There’s another one… Nagy… a good guy that is. It doesn’t equal wins of course, but makes me feel like good things are coming our way. Bring it on.
That’s it… no in depth analysis, just a few things off the top. Like I said, it’s going to be tough… keeping this Bears enthusiasm on the back burner as the Cubs make the playoff push. Maybe 2 blogs per day? Haha… let me just try to stay current with 1. Bear Down!
