Happy new season!  After being somewhat excited (considering I wanted defense) with the first pick in the draft this year, the 7th overall pick, I am now disappointed.  Kevin White has been put on the PUP list, which means he’ll miss a minimum of 6 weeks.

Let’s be honest..haha.  He’s going to miss more than 6 weeks.. maybe 11, more likely the whole season.  It’s not like they’ll need to rush him back because we’re fighting for a playoff spot.  The funny thing is that he was diagnosed as day-to-day… then the whispers started about this being a more serious injury.  I guess John Fox and the Bears brass were just following the Bill Belicheat playbook on reporting injuries… hey, it’s worked for them right?

Well, welcome to Chicago guys.  Thanks for keeping us in the loop.  But hey, they don’t have to right?  Why do us fans need to know all the specific details about a situation until it’s been confirmed?  Still, it does seem pretty shady.  So what else aren’t they telling the truth about, or what other truths are they hiding?  Well, let’s keep it with White.  This injury… when did it happen?  At the combine?  Was this a pre-existing condition?  Will we ever know the truth about the shin?  Will he ever live up to his top 10 selection?  Shingate has many levels…

On the bright side of things, at least for number six, is that he has another excuse.  He has something else to blame for his poor performance.  I love it how the reports are coming from practice… Cutler’s thrown zero picks.  Cutler made it through the first week of practice with no picks.  It’s practice for god’s sake.  And is this a reflection of Cutler’s improvement in the new offense or of our defensive prowess?  I only watched about half a quarter of that game, and the entire quarter Miami spent driving down the field and scoring a TD on us.  So I’m supposed to think Cutler is better this year because he throws no picks in practice against a defense that has been in the tank the last couple years?

OK, so fool me about White’s injury, but ain’t no fooling me on Cutler… not any more.  I’ll take a glass a water, and pass on the kool aid.  This guy has been a bum since day 1… he’s done nothing for us.  Hey, maybe he’ll turn it around this year… anything is possible.  And believe me, I will root for that, but come on…  you know, it just doesn’t make sense because he is such a great QB…

He’s the type of QB that makes guys around him better… NOT!!!!!  OK so maybe that list is short… Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees… the guys that make no name WRs stars.  I’m just trying to think of one guy Cutler has made better.  Help me out… I’m not going to spend much time thinking about this, since I feel it’s a wild goose chase in my head.  I already know the answer… no need to waste any brain cells on this one.  Can you tell how excited I am for Bears season???

OK, deep breath…  So our top 10 pick is out, maybe for the year, and we thought it was day to day… Check.  1st look at our new defense was like looking at the past 2 years…. Check.  Cutler is expected to overcome this and make other guys better…. Check.  That’s three for three so far.  We’re really starting off on the right foot here.  But hey, the Bears DID win their first preseason game.  Now only if we can agree to NOT play starters in regular season games… now there’s an idea!

While you’re railing on Cutler being a guy to root for but not expect much, how ’bout your Bull boy, drose!! His last week’s decision to skip the USA team has really filled-in any blanks about his character. He’s here for the money and nothing else. He’s a good player, no doubt, but has no character and no loyalty (‘cept to himself and his life after the game). The USA team is made-up of good quality players and stars in the league that are more than thrilled to play on that team. Those guys who consider is an honor and privilege to play for their Country! But not your little Bull……he’s too worried that maybe he’ll hurt himself. Hell, that’s what he’s been best at!!

Don’t think that’s a fair shot at Rose. He’s played with the USA team in the past and always said how much he’d love to win a gold medal for his country. The fact is, he probably wouldn’t even make the team. He was knocked last year for doing it, and now he’s knocked for not doing it. He can’t win..until he wins on the court, and to do that, health is critical. This is the first summer in 5 years I think, that he is not recovering from some injury. If he can be himself again (a big IF), then he can get back to being one of the best. Then maybe the Bulls can win, then he can make and play and win for the USA team, then everybody can stop taking shots at his every decision. Until then unfortunately, it’s open season…

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a fair shot. Players around the league would forego everything for a chance to play on the USA team and represent their country. Problem here is a lot of his comments from past re-hab times are showing people who he really is. Is he a good-potentially great basketball player…..yes. Will he ever be an ambassador of the game…..no. His attitude is all about him, and ‘saving’ himself for his life after his playing years. He came out and said just that. His comments plus his lack of team support, shown by his absence during his re-hab stints, show that. I’ll root for him to do well while he’s on the court with our Bulls, but won’t be rooting for him.
