April 29, 2024: Bye Bye LeBron

Monday night brought one of the annual happiest days of the year: the exit from the playoffs for a LeBron James team. Yeah, it’s like that, just like when the Packers lose in the playoffs. It’s a day of rejoicing.

I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again… I’d much rather be celebrating a playoff win for a Chicago team. When’s the last time I did that? And no, I’m NOT counting the Bulls play-in wins the last two years; that’s bullshit. So when was the last time Chicago celebrated a playoff win? Well, it was 2017 when the Cubs beat the Nationals. The Blackhawks won in 2019, but that was a qualifying win, so… the Stanley Cup win over the Lightning in 2015 was the last series win for the Hawks. The Bears? Ha! 2010 over the Seahawks, Cutler’s only playoff win. And the Bulls? 2015 when they beat the Bucks in the first round. So yeah, it’s been a minute. In the meantime, to tide me over, I celebrate the Packers and any LeBron team’s exit from the postseason; it’s great.

This year’s exit by LeBlame James is just as sweet as any other. First, he blames the refs for a third quarter call after their game 2 loss, where they blew a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter, and, and… missed a wide open three pointer, after he pushed a dude down; this guy… Then, after their game 3 loss, he says… it’s only basketball; wow. In one of the games, I can’t even keep track of this guy and his antics, he stomps like a spoiled child on the sideline, begging for a challenge… meanwhile, the Nuggets scored a bucket. You can’t make this shit up.

The Lakers are a shit show, bottom line. Yeah, they got their mickey mouse ring during COVID, but seriously… who really thinks of that as a real title other than Lakers and/or LeBron fans? Oh wait… the same people, like the mayor of Los Angeles, that thinks the play in tourney win was something serious… haha. It’s a joke. What happened to the proud days of the Lakers, with Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic, Kobe, Shaq… my how the mighty have fallen. Only the COVID “title” since 2009. Hey, it’s more than the Bulls, but… this is the Lakers… it’s the Lakers and Celtics… that’s what this league is about, right? Most titles for any franchise. Even the NBA and its henchmen (the refs) couldn’t help these absolute losers. What next?

Well, LeBron will play with his son next year, which is a whole other story. Hey, it’s pretty cool for father and son to play together, but… Bronny was on the bench as a freshman in college last year, and now, he’s going to get drafted… only because his last name is James. Let the poor kid develop a bit. Getting on the court one game with him? Will that be worth sacrificing his career? Hopefully things turn out OK for his son. As for LeBron, he’s set as one of the best players in NBA history; how high on that list is up to you. Don’t care how long he plays or what else he does… and I could have told you this years ago… he ain’t #1. Good luck next year wherever you go. I’ll be waiting to celebrate again next year. Bye Bye LeBron.
