April 26, 2022: Life Support

OK, let’s talk some more Bulls… while they’re still breathing. Yeah, after 2 of the worst losses you’ll ever see in the UC in Games 3 & 4, the Bulls are on life support. Down 3-1 to the defending champ Bucks, it will all be over soon, and that really sucks.

I try to cheer myself up; I think we’ve been through some of this before. If you told me the Bulls would finish where they did, with the record they did, before the season started, I would have been very, very happy. The “problem” came in when the Bulls started the season the way they did; it wasn’t JUST the start either. The Bulls teased us, plain and simple. Forget just making the playoffs, this team was going to make a deep run, right? Right? Right! Yeah, #7 here we come. The Bulls are all the way back. We can beat anybody in the East! Let’s do this! Well, maybe the Bulls aren’t ALL the way back… yet. They are currently taking Playoff Basketball 101; so nice of the Bucks to teach us huh?

Speaking about the Bucks; do you hate them yet? I’m right there. I guess that’s any team that you face in the playoffs, especially if they’re kicking your ass. But yeah, I smell a Hate File on the horizon for this Bucks team that the Bulls are making out to look like cinches to win another NBA title. I know we have to give credit to the Bucks for their defense and shooting, but come on… what they’re doing is not sustainable; they’re not THAT good. I guess it’s just that “Bulls performance vs a top team in the East” syndrome that is helping the Bucks look so great. When the Bucks finish us off, I’ll be rooting for the Celtics to kick their ass, assuming they do the same to the sorry ass Nets. Hey, at least we won a game…

I don’t know… I’m pissed man. I just knew the Bulls were going to put up a better fight. These last two games haven’t even been close!!! On our home court!!! With the Bucks missing their 2nd best player!!! It’s embarrassing; I’m pissed at every one of the Bulls and their coach. I want to start dragging them, like I started to do the other day, but… going to hold off, until the Bulls offseason becomes official, at which point, we can turn our attention to what the Bulls need to do to get better, to get further than we did this year. I do trust AKME; the Bulls arrow is definitely pointed up, but… how far up can this current Bulls roster go? Like I said, more to come on that.

For the meantime, I’ll be ready to watch Game 5 in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. I’ll root hard for my team, and empty out the expletive chamber at the TV. I really didn’t think it would be THIS bad… oh well. Maybe for the last time this year… Go Bulls!!!
