OK, just remember… I’m still in catch up mode. Of course I tuned into the Bulls Hawks play-in game on Wednesday night at the UC. This game right here… this is our sweet spot… haha. Last year, the Bulls beat the Raptors in Toronto to move on to the 2nd play-in game. This time, we’d have the home court advantage… and the Bulls took full advantage.
First off, let me just say, after this performance, the Most Improved Player of the year in the NBA should have been sewn up. Coby MF White! I’m not just saying this because I placed a wager on him winning the award a ways back; I’m not just saying this because I bet on the over of his point total for this game. He really does deserve it. Nothing against Tyrese Maxey; he is a nice player… I like his game. He made the All-Star team this year, but… he was a good player last year too. So although Maxey may be better than Coby, the player that made the biggest leap from one year to the next, which is the spirit of this award (right?), is Coby, hands down. For all the shit the Bulls are in, the one player we’re good with is him. Coby White is him. 42 points. Career high! But these games don’t count in the stats? I heard that; that’s some BS. Either way, we’ll always remember Coby for this performance.
And yes, the Bulls got the win. They went back to back as the first round play in champs. Maybe we need to hang a banner for that, like the Lakers did with that bullshit play-in tourney. It’s pretty sad when THIS is the best thing we have to look forward to all year. Oh wait, there is the 2nd round of the play-in games… we’ll get to that in a minute. But after this win, I was feeling good. The Bulls had got me on the hook again. Surely we’ll beat the Heat, in a rematch of last year’s tilt, without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, right?
Let’s set another thing straight before we move on from this game: I do NOT want Trae Young on the Bulls. He sucks. I’d much rather have DeJounte Murray, who also cashed his over on the point total for me in this one. Since they certainly cannot play together going forward in Atlanta, I’ll take Murray for Lavine straight up… shit, I’ll throw in Vooch too… and anybody else they want frankly, not name Coby White; OK, maybe not Ayo, Caruso, Drummond… but, you get the point. Just say NO to Trae Young, please.
It was good to watch the Bulls again, thinking it may have been the last time this season. Luckily (or not) for us, we got to watch them one more time come Friday night. Bulls Celtics in the first round had a nice ring to it… but…
