April 14, 2017: Too Much Faith

posted in: Blackhawks | 1

Is there such a thing?  I’m all about having faith; that ranks right up there with love.  I couldn’t imagine a life without it.  I apply that same faith to my sports teams.  I always believe that they will do it, except the Bulls this year.  This faith specifically in the Cubs was finally rewarded, and was a sign to me of how important faith is.

That brings us to the Blackhawks.  As I’ve discussed, they are the team that I have the most faith in.  After winning 3 Cups, you get all that and then some.  There is no limit to the faith that I have in them.  I guess they just like testing that faith…

They lost 1-0 in Game 1 vs the Preds.  Yet, nobody is worried.  All I hear and read about is, as long as the Hawks play like they did in the 2nd and 3rd period, we will win the series.  Although I do agree with that, I wonder if we have too much faith in the Hawks.  Is that possible?

What if Rinne continues to stand on his head?  He made some amazing saves, and above anybody, won this game for the Preds.  Who’s to say he can’t do it again; that’ll give them 2 wins.  Throw in an offensive outburst or a bad game by Crow, and now they have 3 wins.  Only one more win to win the series; it’s possible, no?

We will be discussing about the different type of diets and it’s advantages and disadvantages. Don’t worry, it is not a life-threatening disease, but it may vary from one patient cost viagra to another. Being the very first foremost drug solution, canadian viagra professional was an expensive drug hence most of the patients were not able to take treatment. Or what if the Hawks continue to play incomplete games?  They played 2/3 of a game on Thursday night at the UC.  That just won’t get it done.  We’ve seen them do this in the regular season at times.  We’ve seen them do this in previous postseasons.  This type of approach will not get it done most of the time.  We need to be on that gas pedal from the first puck drop until the last whistle.  There is no reason we can’t be, especially this year.  The Hawks depth is stronger than last year; I don’t think many will disagree.  When those blades hit the ice, you need to be going 110 MPH.

I don’t know… I get it.  It’s hard for me to imagine the Hawks losing this series, but if we’ve been taught anything over the years, especially lately in sports, is that anything can happen.  The more we play around, the more likely we will lose.  I know… absolutely no credit to the Predators.  Is this a function of my super faith in the Hawks?  I still believe that when the Hawks play their best nobody can beat them.  Our best is greater than your best every day of the week.

The problem is, the Hawks did not bring their best to the table in Game 1; we saw the result.  There is no reason to think anything less than our best, regardless of opponent, will get the job done.  Let’s not wait until we’re done 2-0, or 3-1 for this realization to hit us in the face.

It’s time to even the series up.  Not a must win by any means, but still… See, there I go again.  Down 2-0, I still will believe.  Yes, the Hawks seem to be good at testing our faith.  Our faith has been rewarded 3 times this decade.  How much will they test us this year?  And more importantly, will it be rewarded?  Let’s Go Hawks!  Let’s get Game 2!

Here we go again, confidence vs cockiness, too much faith…not sure what you want to call it, but I think we have it with our Hawks. It feels good not to be worried. It feels good to know that we fear no deficit. What does not feel good is digging another hole. Down 0-1 at home…time to get even. Play a whole game, come out strong, show the preds why you are the number team in the west with 3 Cups in 7 years. They know who we are. They have felt our wrath in previous years. That makes them hungry and dangerous. Meet their level and go all the way up. The playoffs have started boys, time to show up and show out. Come out hard and get this series even. GO HAWKS!!!
